Funny, yet strange thing....just a few days ago I thought how is it that we have this social media stuff and still barely know anything about our friends on here. Ive had fun reading these! Some have been silly, some truly personal (which I love to see hearts being open), others just simple daily things. I love this game. And hope more play it. Ok, so if you like this post, Ill give a number. My number is seven. 1. when I was six years old, I wanted to grow up to be a famous singer and wanted to win Grammys for best new artist and record of the year. okay, honestly and 46 and still fantasize about this one.:) 2. When I was 18, I wanted to join Air Force to pay for college but the recruiter told me I was not allowed to enlist because I was disabled. 3. In March of this year I lost my best friend of 34 years, also named Melissa, she was my go to person.I am happy she is at home with God and her grandmother Alice, who she considered her mother because she raised her. Im also glad she is no longer in pain daily. now, whenever I see a butterfly, I know this is her way of saying she is still around. She is also the person who taught me about having a relationship with God, versus the God talked about in every religion. 4. Three years ago, I was almost homeless because I was in grad school and my building is hud subsidized, even though I reported all my income, there is a ridiculous law on the books here in Ohio that says if you live in HUD housing and are full-time student, paying tuition with student loans, HUD has the right to take 30% of the student loan refund as income. So, my landlord tried to get $4000 back rent which is impossible to do when your monthly income is $700. Thanks to my dear friend Tim, and former Congressman Dennis Kucinich for their assistance which allowed me to fight them and stay. 5. I am five classes away from earning a Masters degree in social work from case Western University. I had to leave school because of the situation described in #4. I know God has a plan that may be different from this, Im getting to the point however, where I would love to see the blueprints:) 6. I wish I could see all my cousins in Columbus I miss them and honestly sometimes dont feel like Im part of the family because its been so long since Ive seen them. 7. When I was 27, I developed a condition which prevented me from having children so I dedicate my life to helping the kids that are already here. If I had it to do over again, i think I would get a Masters degree in education to work with children with special needs instead of social work. Theres nothing sweeter than the smell of a newborn babys skin when they are first born:) I am praying for a new little girl cousin next year. Its been 15 years since a girl has been born, the estrogen levels need to balance the testosterone of all my other cousins;)
