Furman: It’s not ideal, but … Posted: 4 September 2013 Dean Furman says the fact that Bafana Bafana have to rely on other teams to keep their 2014 FIFA World Cup dreams alive ‘is not ideal’, but he has called on his teammates to make sure they do everything right on their side. The South Africans go into Saturday’s match against Botswana needing a win, while at the same time hoping CAR beat group leaders Ethiopia in neutral Congo in a match being played at the same time. ALSO READ: Bafana record against Botswana Furman, who has been key to Bafana’s fight-back following a poor start in the group stages, says all he and his teammates can do is win their match against the Zebras and hope for the best. “The fact that we still have a chance is great and we have to do everything we can to put the pressure on Ethiopia,” the Doncaster Rovers midfielder tells KickOff. “We have to go out there and beat Botswana and hope that Ethiopia slip up. “It’s not ideal; we would have preferred for it to be in our hands, but this is the situation we are in now and all we can do is concentrate on doing our job and hope results got for us elsewhere.” Furman was not part of the squad that drew 1-1 against Botswana in the first round of matches back in June 2012.
