Further evidence that my political and moral views are not in any way, shape, or form directly attached to those of any one political party or religious group... Im probably in the minority here, considering the day and age in which we live, but I have zero problem with the CIA using torture tactics, particularly in regards to terrorists that they have detained, in regards to obtaining pertinent information that is relevant to national security. Understand, I am NOT AT ALL advocating the regular use of torture tactics for any given case or situation that the CIA is dealing with, but when you get into the realm of threats against our country, on our soil, our interests abroad, etc.... You are dealing with extreme people. These are people that, mentally, do not operate on the same plane as most other people, not even most other hardened criminals. Most of these people are on a whole different level then what most of us can even fathom, as far as their capabilities of the evil that they can produce. It may not be nice, it may not be fair, and yes, mistakes will occur on occasion. But I have always been of the opinion that, in matters like this, it takes extreme measures to deal with extreme people and extreme situations. Something about the greater good is coming to mind...
