The Gangjeong people gathered early in the morning to welcome Pope with banners.. But the police interrupted them, which was unnecessary. The grand mass itself was interrupted by government helicopter, military ceremonies, which must have made pope frown. Still his compassion to the powerless like Mr. Kim Young-Oh, a bereaved father who lost his daughter from the Sewol Tragedy and has been doing 37 days fast as of Aug. 19 in demand of the enactment of Special Law, was shown to peoples being greatly touched and to the embarrassment of Park Geun-Hye government. Go Gwon-Il, co-vice mayor of the Gangjeong village has been drawing a series of cartoons (He was originally a cartoonist) during his solidarity sit-in with Sewol family members. In the cartoon attached, he describes Park Geun-Hye who can only pray for political survival from the Pope visit. The big sea waves implies Pope visit that threatens her immoral and unjust status.
