Englewood Avenue, Teaneck, NJ 07666 Prof. Leimans lecture, which addresses the role of women in transmitting Torah teaching from one generation to the next, identifies an otherwise unknown young woman who heroically laid down her life for the cause of Torah. It deals also with the recent discovery of a document whose significance for the history of Torah study before, during and after the Holocaust will be examined. This evening, open to the entire community, initiates the Esther Manischewitz Community Education Fund. The lecture will be proceeded by a short video tribute to Esther who was born in pre-state Israel and, together with her husband Bill, was a founder of the first Orthodox synagogue in Teaneck, NJ.
