GAP Fact #11: As you approach Confluence coming from Ohiopyle, you leave the Western Maryland ROW and travel on the ROW of the former Confluence & Oakland Railroad (a branch of the B&O) for about half a mile before the old Route 281 bridge. Most of the former ROW of the Confluence & Oakland Railroad is now under Youghiogheny River Lake. The Western Maryland bridge you pass under here is the only one not used for the trail.
