GAREKI WINS PUSIGA GALA LEAGUE At long last the Pusiga Gala League came to an end in a fascinating style with GAREKI emerging champions of the tournament. They emulated Spain in 2010 FIFA world cup as they lost their opening match by a lone goal to NINKOGO. They bounced swiftly back in their next match going on to beat Gbewaa Natinga, who they would later meet in the finals, beating them 2- 1 and subsequently topping the group on head-to-head rule. They moved on to knockout Agengo Natinga (earmarked as FIFA team) and Zongo United in the quarter finals and semifinals respectively to reach the finals. In a very fascinating first half, there was nothing to separate the two sides. Early on in the second half the coach of GAREKI, Tzoo, who is branded the Mourinho of Pusiga, made some tactical changes, throwing in Babangida and taking off Mubarik. The latters introduction brought life into the game which was much characterised by player simulations and dirty tacklings. Neither side could break the deadlock after 90 minutes of play. Referee Iddrisu Imoro Alias Compos had to decide the winner on penalty shoot outs. Garekis keeper saved the first penalty kick which will later play an important part in Garekis triumph. Gareki went ahead to win 4:2 to lift the trophy. It must be said that this tournament is the first of it kind and that civilization is really catching up with the people of Pusiga.
