Inflation rate reduced from 54% in 1993 to 8.5 percent in 1997 The Dollar exchange rate was constantly at 65naira per dollar for 5 years. PETROL Pump price... Abacha increased pump price from 19 naira to 21 naira(The only time he increased it in 5 years) The 2 naira excess was used to establish The Petroleum Trust Fund(Lets not even go to the success of PTF) Under JONATHAN.. Petrol pump price was increased from 65 naira to 97 naira(The highest increment in the history of Nigeria) Economy...GEJ inherited a debt cancellation regime stroke by OBJ under the supervision of Ngozi Okonja Nwella who is incidentally the Finance minister and coordinating minister minister of the economyand Defacto prime minister... In GEJs 3 and half years,our local and foreign debt stands at $66 billion Dollars....Despite the high prices of int crude oil which soared to as high as $110 Dollars for more than 3 years against our budget bench mark of $78 Dallas with unprecedented amount of income from excess crude,our foreign reserve is at all time low and the economy in serious distress just 2 months after oil prices dipped to below $80 per barrel. NATIONAL ASSEMBLY... ABACHA built the National Assembly in Abuja GEJ tear gassed the National Assembly infront of the whole world,infact GEJ has not condemned the action of the police. HOUSING... ABACHA built the largest estate in Africa,GWARINPA ESTATE which was originally meant to house civil servants on Abuja... Wetin GEJ build ? SPORTS... Under Abacha,the Super eagles qualified to the World Cup for the first time in the history of Nigeria,they went on to qualify to the second round... The super eagles also won the nations cup in Tunisia Nigeria also won the under 17 World Cup in 1993.. Nigerias Olympic team also won the Olympic gold medal,the first time any African team will achieve that(Even Brazil have not won an Olympic gold in football) Under GEJ,the under 17 won the cup in Dudai and the super eagles won the nations cup,Thats all. SECURITY Under Abacha,we did not witness a single riot talkless of communal or religious crises. UNDER GEJ, Nigeria has never recorded the number of deaths arising from crises,senseless killings,bombings and kidnapping since the civil war..
