GEJ still does not understand why we voted him into power. GEJ, its not because of your good luck, we voted you in because we thought you will bring a different approach to governance, having heard your miserable story of going to school without shoes. How wrong we were! Since you were sworn in as acting president and president, you consistently refused to stand up for yourself and rule according to your conscience. GEJ, history and posterity will forgive you for mistakes from your own decisions but will not forgive you for doing nothing or repeating the same old things that failed us. Does GEJ understand that gerentocracy is a drawback to democratic practice? These old men are supposed to be advisers and not major players in issues like this. The world has moved on and they are clearly lagging behind technologically and otherwise. Cant GEJ allow them to enjoy their retirement? Their conclusions will be full of hatred in order to settle scores with their enemies and contemporaries. We need young men to take most of these decisions knowing that these decisions will affect their own lives and that of their children. We need people below the age of 50 to be chairperson, secretary and also populate the conference. Its there future that is going to be discussed and they should be taking the decisions by themselves. But, I have a very critical observation. Why is it that the IBO nation is always ahead of other tribes within Nigeria in thinking and advancement of our collective interests? Prof. Nwabueze and Dr. Alex Ekwueme said that they will not represent the IBO nation because of their age, will allow the young men to seize this opportunity, that they will be at the background to advice them because they are above 80yrs old and will not be around for much time longer. For your information Nigeria refused the ABURI ACCORD in the sixties and still facing the realities today! Why cant GEJ invest his political capital in such idea, knowing his peculiar circumstances?
