I found a useful plugin for Lightroom the other day. Im always giving thought to what gear I intend investing in. Im certainly in the market for a longer telephoto prime and have been for a while. Sadly my wallet wont come to the market with me. Anyway. A pal of mine flogged his 200-400 for a 400 prime and a couple of t/c after he analysed the exif data for all of his keepers and determined that the significant majority were at 400mm focal length. He always thought he would miss the versatility of the zoom but the stats didnt match his thoughts. I found this plug in which uses the exif data in lightroom catlogs and produces some objective data on your photography habits. Focal length is the key one I looked at but you can use ISO too, for example - how important is a camera body to me which can produce very clean high ISO images etc. Its certainly a useful and interesting tool to help you look at how you use your gear.
