GEPADG and Gunjur Project Lodge Environmental & Conservation Projects 2014 – 2016. Many beaches on Gambia were historically recorded to have sea turtles coming ashore to lay eggs, but now, there are only a few places left; among the is the coastline of Southern Gambia, is the one place where green turtles visit to lay eggs. GEPADG and Gunjur Project Lodge have the overall goal of a tailored program to conserve and better understand the biology of green sea turtles nesting. 2014 ~ 2016 Environmental & Conservation Project entails the following among others: Daytime work: - Monitoring and excavating of sea turtle nests to determine nest success. - Removing debris (refuse & stray fishing nets) from protected nesting areas.
