GLBM MISSIONS TRIP UPDATE: Saturday, December 6. It was a long but LITTLE LESS PAINFUL trip up the Pyay Road and Irrawaddy River into Magwe Division of Myanmar and to the large village of Aunglan for my third visit to Pastor Htein Win Ei and his ministry because he graciously purchased our bus and reserved two seats for each of us at the front. God, please bless Htein Win Ei! So arriving at 3:30 a.m. and then without any sleep to speak of, we toured the ministry and did many activities with the children of the school and orphanage all day. Dr. Peter Banfe outfitted every child and young person with an array of balloon creations. They loved it as the photos will reveal. And we finished the afternoon with a service where we all preached, sang, and just tried to be a blessing and encourage the kids. Tomorrow well preach in all the services. I dont think it is an exaggeration to tell you that the presence of Gods Holy Spirit resides on this churchs grounds. You can feel it and sense it, not only in Pastor Hteins humble demeanor but also in all the children. Because of arriving when we did, we were there when the children woke up, started their ground fire for cooking breakfast and went to devotions, the girls together in one place and the boys in another. After breakfast we observed them all going about their daily chores with an irreproceable attitude. They are quiet and respectful but also warm and a lot of fun. Every child is a servant. Pastor Htein is instilling in each child a wonderful love for God and for Gods people. In the midst of what was a place of persecution, this is a little oasis of peace and spirituality, planned and planted by God through a man who is well-educated, yet simple, meek, peaceful, committed, and satisfied - even though he lives like his people, in a dirt floor hut, with no set salary or benefits, just a family around him, called the Body of Christ.
