GM! Ive had a pretty interesting 24 hours but check it..I make not ONE apology for what I did to HELP my daughter yesterday. Im sick of chasing children around trying to whoop them when straight up, ITS NOT WORKING. Did I make mistakes when she was growing up? Absolutely did. As a teenage mother, I didnt always follow my instincts when it came to her, I was much better with my youngest. As a result of my thinking during that time, Tariyan had responsibilities of an oldest child. Ive always wanted to instill in her leadership qualities that my mom instilled in me. Fast forward 13 years, blood line characteristics showing up, Im putting an end to what doesnt need to continue. Her punishment yesterday didnt come without a good conversation beforehand. I explained to her how WELL she had it, versus what I dealt with at 13. Since she CHOSE her behavior at school yesterday, she has to deal with the consequences of her actions. It starts with her sign. This morning, we were up bright and early, feeding homeless teens at a shelter. I prayed on our way back home for God to show me different things to do for her and with her that would encourage her to embrace who she is, the good and the bad. I decided to have her write down what she plans to change, whether it be attitude, actions, etc. THEN, I told her to turn the paper over and write what she needs US to change to HELP her be better. I dont want to see my child dead but I would RATHER not have her here than let the world get to her first. Call it what you want. It may be extreme to you, but unless you have raised a daughter, (and this is your warning), dont show up in my inbox again. If I dont get a handle on her, someone else will. You really wanna help? Pray. I am all for the it takes a village approach buuuuuuttttt you villagers who have no experience need to have several seats on the nearest Megabus....outta my face. LOL! HAVE A GREAT DAY LOVES!
