GMV is making a big contribution to the scientific discipline of epidemiology, drawing on its technological expertise in the setting up and adaptation of epidemiological and clinical data management and mining platforms to generate knowledge about event- and state- classification and distribution studies in specific human populations. This is now serving as the basis for a new philosophy of the processing and mining of public-health data. This technological platform will help to design better evidence-based health surveillance, attention and management procedures, directly helping to improve healthcare quality and enhance the management of healthcare resources as a whole.
