GOALS What is the most important goal I should set for myself? Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Ephesians 4:23-24 “and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” You harvest what you plant. Pumpkin seeds produce pumpkins; sunflower seed produce sunflowers. That is why you must ask Christ Jesus to plant within you a good heart so that your life will produce good thoughts, motives, and actions. Ask Christ Jesus to plant the seed of God’s love and the seed of a forgiving heart. If any bad desires or thoughts remain, it is evident that there are still some bad seed in you, and you need to do some weeding. None of us will be entirely pure in this life, BUT purity of mind and heart is one of the most worthy goals to pursue. Set this as your most important goal. Your desire for a clean heart and mind, your desire to walk in God’s love will impact your relationship with God, your family, your friends and your work more than any other goal in your life. Think how different you could be 6 months from now – inside and outside if you make this the most important goal in your life. Galatians 6:9 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
