GOD WILL WORK A WONDER. SOMEDAY SOON civilization as we now know it will come to an abrupt and catastrophic end. The day of the Lord shall come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up (2 Peter 3:10). Joels prediction of a great outpouring of Gods Spirit in his day appropriately describes what God would do for us in this hour: It shall come to pass afterward, that l will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions (JOEL 2:28). The final work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the saints will constitute the most glorious chapter in the history of the church. THE PROGRAM OF GOD WILL END IN A BLAZE OF GLORY. GODS SIDE IS GOING TO WIN. The secret of that triumph is contained in the words of the text: I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh. The Holy Spirit of God, the third person of the Godhead, is in charge of the work of God in human hearts on earth today. In the words of Hosea 6:3: Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth. Here an agricultural figure of speech is used to describe the work of the Holy Spirit. Any good farmer knows that without the former rain the plant is likely to wither and die, and a tender blade of grass would barely clear the surface of earth before it became discolored and faded away. So the early rain enables the newly planted seed to grow and flourish. Later comes what is called latter rain, which ripens the grain and prepares it for harvest. This is what we face--the baptism of the Spirit compared to the latter rain to ripen the spiritual experiences of Gods people all over the world, preparing them for THE FINAL CONQUEST OF THE GOSPEL AND THE COMING OF THE LORD. HOW DO WE KNOW THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE HEART OF MAN? Truly there is but one BIBLE TEST OF THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE HEART OF MAN, AND THAT IS LOVE. Galatians 5:22 and 23 clearly state this: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another ( JOHN 13:35). Romans 5:5 says that love is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost. It is the love of God that transform and subdues us. It is His love that melts our hard hearts and give rise to new purposes and attitudes. It is love that saves the soul, and the Spirit of God is in the soul-saving business. The time has indeed come for all men everywhere to pray for the outpouring of the Spirit of God and for the baptism of fire. It is this that will deliver us from the power of defiling habits. It is the Spirit of God who will develop in us consistent Christian lives. It is He who brings joy to the heart and peace to the soul. He rebukes the barrenness of the sinners heart, and it is He who can grow an oasis of green on the arid desert of a sin-wasted life. Let the withered soul seek the refreshing waters of the fountain of life. Let him drink deeply until the fruit of the Spirit springs up and ripen for the great harvest to come. Let there be a seeking after God such as David described when he said, As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God (Psalm 42:1). Then will we realize in our own lives the experience described by the Psalmist, He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass ( Psalm 72:6). This experience we must have before God begins to work His wonders in the earth and in the sky, and the great and dreadful day of our God breaks upon the world... OH HOW I THIRST FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT ANOINTING...FRIENDS MAY YOUR SOUL PANTS FOR THIS BROOKS. BLESSINGS AND LOVE!!!
