GODS CHOICE or Just a GOOD CHOICE? This brings to mind the story of a brother and sister who were in a relationship. At a point, the sister started noticing some things were wrong, she realised she did not consult God before going into the relationship! Then, to come out/quit such relationship became an issue because everyone liked them together. Friends and families were always giving good comments about their relationship; but deep down in her heart she felt NO PEACE! The continuous revelations and warnings God kept giving her gave her unrest! She kept seeing the brother running the race with another woman. But at a time, God gave her the courage to take her stand and both of them had to go their separate ways! Friends and loved ones tried all they could to bring them back, but her decision was final! Thereafter, God favoured them in their different ways! She later arrived at the conclusion that to her friends and loved ones, the relationship seemed like a GOOD CHOICE but wasnt GODS CHOICE! When it comes to the issue of making a choice of life partner, most people tend to listen to the voice of their flesh and judge based on what they see. They forget to realise that it is not only about the package of the man/woman which only human eyes can see but also about the content which God alone can see and direct His loved ones accordingly. When it comes to taking this important decision in our life, we should not allow friends/ circumstances alone decide who we get married to; we should let God help us in making this decision. There is a saying that majority carries the vote; but in the area of marriage, most times, majority might not carry the vote in your decision making! But most times, when you hold on to Gods choice, people will begin to see His glory in your relationship. Dear brothers/sisters, not every good choice is Gods choice, but GODS CHOICE IS ALWAYS GOOD AND PERFECT! James 1: 17 says: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Seeking to know Gods will in the area of marriage is very important. Deciding who to marry is one of the important decisions we will ever make! Our primary reason for marriage should be based on the conviction that a particular person is Gods choice and not just a good choice for us after we must have prayed and gotten Gods consent and go-ahead! When we go to God and ask for His direction in choosing a life partner; He has three answers: Either a YES, NO, or WAIT. Wait seems to be the most difficult of all the answers but sometimes the most necessary. God always saves His best for those who are willing to wait for it; but when we fail to wait, we are out of Gods will. Even when we do the right thing out of Gods timing, its still disobedience and could bring frustration and confusion to what could have been a blessing! May Gods light shine on our path and lead us to His choice for us in marriage in JESUS NAME-AMEN! Funmibi Cares but GOD CARES MORE!
