GOD’S APPEAL! – WAKE UP This is written to you and me to each church member and each Seventh day Adventist Pastor. It is not a condemnation of anyone – it is an appeal to you (and to me). God tells us that we are “asleep.” God says, “They all slumbered and slept.” Matthew 25:5. God is calling for all of us to wake up out of our sleep – you, me, every pastor, evangelist, and church leader. I am seeking to discover how we all might wake up – for this is my great need – to wake up! - Jesus gives us the story of the Pharisee and the Publican in Luke chapter 18:10-14. This is the story of two men that went to the temple to pray. One of them felt just fine. He knew he was on God’s side. He knew that he was doing all the “right things.” He was what we call a very good “Pastor.” He was respected by everyone. He was honest and was also faithful to his wife and faithfully paid his tithe, a tenth of his income to God. He prayed thanking God that he was such a “good man” and he knew it. At that moment another man came to the temple to pray and the “good” pastor saw him and knew that in his past he had done some very naughty things – that he had stolen some money from others. This “tax collector stood afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’” Jesus commended the one who asked for mercy and condemned the religious leader who felt no need to ask God for mercy. Jesus said “everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 18:10-14. . BOTH YOU AND I NEED GOD’S MERCY! . Every pastor must approach God asking Him for His mercy acknowledging that no matter how good he thinks he is he is in great need of God’s mercy. I must have God’s mercy and so must you. I write this humbly knowing that I am the chief of sinners (1 Timothy 1:15) and will be saved only through God’s mercy that He promises me and by His Holy Spirit which He gives to all who hunger and thirst for His Holy Spirit. So if you are a pastor, realize that this is written to me - God is calling me to wake up. If you see yourself in this message and accept it and obey Christ’s command to be “zealous and repent” (Revelation 3:19) wonderful – and if you feel you feel whole and have no need of REPENTANCE – that is your choice. . JESUS TELLS US WE BOTH MUST “BE ZEALOUS AND REPENT” . I am seeking to obey my Savior and choose to be “zealous and repent.” “Father have mercy to me the chief of sinners and hear my prayer, the prayer and song of John Huss when he died as a martyr in the flames. “Jesus, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me, in Jesus name, Amen.” If you wish to pray that prayer with me – God will hear and answer your prayer. “When the flames kindled about him, he began to sing, ‘Jesus, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me,’ and so continued till his voice was silenced forever.” The Great Controversy, page 109. Jesus tells us that we are like the “Pastor” (Pharisee) is His story – that we think we are ‘rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that” we “are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked” The solution is to recognize are sleepy, lukewarm “wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked condition like Blind Bartimaeus and John Huss, the Catholic priest who loved and served Jesus Christ and dared teach the doctrines of the Bible to the people in their own language for which “heresy” he was burned at the stake. “When the flames kindled about him, he began to sing, ‘Jesus, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me,’ and so continued till his voice was silenced forever.” He prayed the prayer and sang the prayer of “blind Bartimaeus and his eyes were opened to see a glorious future in eternity with Jesus and with you and me. “When we’ve been there 10,000 years, bright shining like the sun, we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise then when we first begun.” Mark 10:46-52; Daniel 12:3; Matthew 13:43; Revelation 21-22; John 14:1-3; Matthew 5:5. . WHAT ARE YOUR MARCHING ORDERS? . The duke of Wellington was once present where a party of Christian men were discussing the possibility of success in missionary effort among the heathen. They appealed to the duke to say whether in his judgment such efforts were likely to prove a success commensurate to the cost. The old soldier replied: “Gentlemen, what are your marching orders? SUCCESS IS NOT THE QUESTION FOR YOU TO DISCUSS. If I read your orders aright, they run thus, ‘GO YE INTO ALL THE WORLD, AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO EVERY CREATURE.’ GENTLEMEN, OBEY YOUR MARCHING ORDERS.”—Gospel Workers, 115 . GOD DOES NOT TELL YOU TO ASK HOW MANY WANT TO HEAR YOUR PROPHETIC MESSAGE . God does not tell you to ask how many want to hear your prophetic message or whether you think it will succeed and be accepted by large numbers of people. He gives you His marching orders to “go.” Do not try to preach a different message to gain the applause of those who choose to travel through the wide gate of Matthew 7:13. Those who preach to satisfy the popular majority of the world are in the wrong church and preaching the wrong message! . OUR ORDERS ARE TO “READ, HEAR AND KEEP” THE WORDS FROM THE BOOK OF REVELATION – OUR ORDERS ARE TO DO THIS AND EXPECT “A GREAT REVIVAL.” . E.G. White writes, “Let us give more time to the study of the Bible. We do not understand the word as we should. THE BOOK OF REVELATION opens with an injunction to us to understand the instruction that it contains. ‘Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, God declares, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.’ WHEN WE AS A PEOPLE UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS BOOK MEANS TO US, THERE WILL BE SEEN AMONG US A GREAT REVIVAL. We do not understand fully the lessons that it teaches, notwithstanding the injunction given us to search and study it.” {Testimonies to Ministers, page 113} . MANY A PASTOR IS LOOKING FOR ACCEPTANCE BY LARGE NUMBERS OF WIDE GATE CHRISTIANS . Many a pastor has forgotten the narrow gate message of Jesus Christ and has forgotten that GOD’S LAST CHURCH IS A PROPHETIC CHURCH. Many an Adventist pastor has NO PROPHETIC MESSAGE. Some Adventist Pastors are seeking to emulate pastors like the popular Rick Warren and Bill Hybels of Saddleback and Willow Creek churches with their huge congregations and vast resources for money. My question? What does Rick Warren know or preach about the “third angel’s message?” THE THIRD ANGEL’S MESSAGE IS THE “ONLY HOPE FOR THE SALVATION OF A PERISHING WORLD!” (Evangelism, page 195.) It’s like Jesus said “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Matthew 24:37-39. How many people believed God’s final warning message in Noah’s day? How many people got on board the ark? How many had a shelter in the time of storm? Just four men and four women got on board the ark. The Rick Warrens and Bill Hybels of Noah’s day knew nothing about the coming storm – Their message was far more popular than Noah’s message and they were real crowd pleasers with tens of thousands listening to their every word. There is a phrase that many quote saying It aint over until the fat lady sings. If we look through merely human eyes, without divine illumination, we would think that Rick Warren and Bill Hybels with congregations of over 20,000 people apiece are successful and that we with smaller congregations are unsuccessful and seek to imitate Rick Warren’s methods of pleasing large crowds by learning what the large crowds crave and giving it to them. This was not Noah’s call from God and it is not God’s “judgment” call that goes to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people with a loud voice. Don’t judge the Rick Warrens and Bill Hybels of this world as successful preachers because of the many thousands that attend their churches each week for it isn’t over until after the final storm and the coming of Christ. The question is not how many people are in their popular “wide gate” “broad way” churches now. (Matthew 7:13) The question is how many have they prepared for the coming storm – “relentless in its fury?” And so my question to every Seventh day Adventist pastor is “Gentlemen, what are your marching orders? SUCCESS IS NOT THE QUESTION FOR YOU TO DISCUSS. If I read your orders aright, they run thus, ‘GO YE INTO ALL THE WORLD, AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO EVERY CREATURE.’ GENTLEMEN, OBEY YOUR MARCHING ORDERS.”— . (1) WHAT WAS LOT’S MARCHING ORDER? -- The marching orders for Lot was to go and warn his family members to leave town before God destroyed it but his family members thought he was joking and so it is today. Are you warning your family members of the coming crisis when it will be too late to prepare for the storm? Or are you looking to build a great empire like the Rick Warrens who have no marching orders except to entertain their congregations? “The angels gave Lot his marching orders and said to him “have you anyone else here? Son-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whomever you have in the city—take them out of this place! For we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the LORD, and the LORD has sent us to destroy it.” So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who had married his daughters, and said, “Get up, get out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city!” But to his sons-in-law he seemed to be joking.” Genesis 19:12-14. . (2) WHAT WAS NOAH’S MARCHING ORDER? -Noah’s marching orders were to build a huge ship on dry land and thus become a point of laughter and mockery and to prepare for the coming storm. And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch. In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. 12 And the rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.” Genesis 6:13-14; 7:11-12. . (3) WHAT ARE YOUR MARCHING ORDERS TODAY? You are to “to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people.” You are to say ”with a loud voice, ‘Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.’ You are to say “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” You are to cry “mightily with a loud voice, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.” (Revelation 14:6-8; 18:2-3._ . You are to shout “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. Her plagues will come in one day—death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.” (Revelation 18:4-8). You have your marching orders, are you faithfully following your marching orders or has your voice become silent in regard to the urgency of the hour? . What are your marching orders? God is calling you to say “with a loud voice, ‘If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” Are you speaking with a LOUD VOICE? The loudest voice God’s army of soldiers has is the voice of literature, books and tracts. That is why E.G. White writes. Publications are to be distributed like the leaves of autumn. This is the message that has been coming to us from the Lord for many years. Review and Herald, July 19, 1906. {Publishing Ministry, page 369}. . Let every believer scatter broadcast tracts and leaflets and books containing the message for this time. Papers and books are the Lords means of keeping the message for this time continually before the people.—Christian Service, p. 145. We should do so judiciously on the trains, in the street, on the great ships that ply the sea, and through the mails.”—Gospel Workers, 353. (Emphasis added throughout). . “And in a large degree, through our publishing houses is to be accomplished the work of that other angel who comes down from heaven with great power and who lightens the earth with his glory. Testimonies for the Church Testimonies, vol. 7, p. 140. “I have been shown that we were not doing our duty in the gratuitous circulation of small publications. There are many honest souls who might be brought to embrace the truth by this means alone. When you meet persons in the cars, on the boat, who seem to have an ear to hear, you can hand them a tract.”—Testimonies for the Church 1:551, 552 glowonline.org glowcentral.org and with the economical Great Controversy books (in bulk 32 to a box) at 844-777-1844. . “Let the leaflets and tracts, the papers and books, go in every direction. Carry with you, wherever you go, a package of select tracts, which you can hand out as you have opportunity. Important results will follow.”—The Review and Herald, June 10, 1880. . Take these simple steps and you will obey a commandment from Jesus. One of His earlier commandments was “come and learn” and one of His last commandments was “Go and Teach” – Matthew 11:28-29; 28:18-20 these two commandments are part of His last warning message to those who are alive now just before the final storm, just before the final test that will reveal who is ready to graduate from the school of earth to the school of heaven. Remember that those who get the victory over the beast and his image are those who “keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. This is one of those commandments – You must ‘come and learn’ and ‘go and teach’ His last warning message, His marching orders to this generation. Lot carried God’s last warning message to the people of his generation. Noah carried God’s last warning message to the people of His generation. Now God is calling you to do the same for your generation. He is not calling you to build huge churches for pride and money and entertainment like the Rick Warrens and Bill Hypels. NO! He is calling you to carry a specific message to your generation. You can warn some I cannot reach and I can warn some you cannot reach but if we change our message in order to build huge empires like the popular preachers we will fail to do the very job that God put the Seventh Day Adventist church in this world to do. – Preach the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd angel’s message of Revelation 14:6-12 which climaxes in the words “Here is the patience of the saints, here are they who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” Revelation 14:12. OTHER QUOTES THAT REVEAL TO EACH PASTOR AND EACH PERSON – GOD’S FINAL MARCHING ORDERS The duke of Wellington said “Gentlemen, what are your marching orders? If I read your orders aright, they run thus, ‘GO YE INTO ALL THE WORLD, AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO EVERY CREATURE.’ GENTLEMEN, OBEY YOUR MARCHING ORDERS.”—Gospel Workers, 115 (1) ‘Here is the patience of the saints; here are those[b] who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. (2) When the final Storm hits Planet Earth it will be too to prepare for the storm – Matthew 7:24-27; 24:37-39. “THE STORM IS COMING, RELENTLESS IN ITS FURY. ARE WE PREPARED TO MEET IT?” Maranatha by E.G. White, page 108. prophecymadeeasy/chapter12.htm . (3) Huge numbers did not win with God in Noah’s day and it will not win today. We must do everything we can to reach “every nation, tribe, tongue, and people with a loud voice” Revelation 14:6-7 and with the Holy Spirit and leave the results to God. It must be God’s message given through the power of the Holy Spirit, not a popular non message given with popular rock bands to please the crowds. (4) DO YOU BELIEVE YOUR MARCHING ORDERS? DO YOU BELIEVE THAT “THE THIRD ANGEL’S MESSAGE MUST BE PRESENTED AS THE ONLY HOPE FOR THE SALVATION OF A PERISHING WORLD?” IT IS SAD THAT THIS HAS LARGELY BEEN FORGOTTEN (OR NEVER LEARNED) BY MANY OF OUR PASTORS IN OUR CHURCHES TODAY! (5) E.G. WHITE, WRITES, “THE THIRD ANGEL’S MESSAGE MUST BE PRESENTED AS THE ONLY HOPE FOR THE SALVATION OF A PERISHING WORLD.”--Letter 87, 1896. {Evangelism, page 195}. (6) WE ARE NOT CONDEMNING PASTORS – CHRIST SAYS WE ARE ALL ASLEEP – THAT INCLUDES YOU AND ME! (MATTHEW 25:1-13) LET’S ASK HIM TO WAKE US UP AND TEACH US “THE ONLY HOPE FOR THE SALVATION OF A PERIHING WORLD!” (7) What is the “ONLY HOPE FOR THE SALVATION OF A PERISHING WORLD?” -- THE THIRD ANGEL’S MESSAGE” IS “THE ONLY HOPE FOR THE SALVATION OF A PERISHING WORLD.”--If that is true and it is the “Only Hope for the salvation of a perishing world, when is the last time your pastor told you that? -- I’m not condemning pastors – Jesus says that they are sleeping and Jesus says that I am sleeping. (Matthew 25:1-13) I want to wake up. And I want our pastors to wake up and tell us that “THE THIRD ANGEL’S MESSAGE IS THE ONLY HOPE FOR THE SALVATION OF A PERISHING WORLD!” Any pastor that doesn’t believe that is in the wrong church and should listen to Jesus and accept His marching orders or resign and join a popular church with a popular message that will get a bigger response from those who are traveling through the “wide gate” and the “broad way.” Matthew 7:13. . OUR MARCHING ORDERS ARE TO LEARN “THE PERFECT CHAIN OF TRUTH” IN THE THREE ANGEL’S MESSAGE OF REVELATION 14:6-20 – THAT WE MIGHT HAVE A FIRM ANCHOR IN THE COMING STORM . (8) Many saw THE PERFECT CHAIN OF TRUTH IN THE ANGELS MESSAGES, and gladly received them in their order, and followed Jesus by faith into the heavenly sanctuary. These messages were represented to me as AN ANCHOR TO THE PEOPLE OF GOD. Those who understand and receive them will be kept from being swept away by the many delusions of Satan. {Early Writings, page 256} . OUR ORDERS ARE TO BEWARE OF THE GOOD AND WONDERFUL COUNTERFEITS THAT TURNS US AWAY FROM LEARNING GOD’S LAST MESSAGE . (9) God tells us in His word that “Satan deceives the whole world.” He and his evil angels and the “good pastors” whom he deceives “come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly” they “are ravenous wolves.” “Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.” Revelation 12:9; Matthew 7:15; 2 Corinthians 11:14. So don’t think the Devil will appear to you in red pajamas, pointy horns and a pitchfork. He will come to you as the greatest of Christians. He will come to you as a great religious leader. He will come to you as a brilliant angel from heaven. He will appear righteous. It’s like the man who killed his wife with ginger ale. He gave her ginger ale with enough poison to make her sick and then came back when she was feeling sick to give her more ginger ale to help her tummy to feel better. She didn’t know he was killing her – he had such a caring demeanor. He spoke with compassion and concern – He was truly a wolf in sheep’s clothing, a phrase we get from Christ’s first sermon. The greatest deceivers are those who are deceived themselves and think that they are giving you the straight truth, not realizing that “the good is the enemy of the best.” They come in sheep’s clothing, but do not realize that the “good things” they seek to teach are a replacement for God’s final message and therefore their “good” teachings trap many into complacency like those who are asleep while “ravenous wolves” are ready to devour the sleeping saint. (Matthew 7:15). ONE OF THE BIGGEST DECEPTIONS AMONG SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHRISTIANS . (1) Is a lack of understanding of their great need to study and teach the book of Revelation. . (2) Is a lack of understanding of their great need to hunger, thirst, talk, pray, and preach for the gift of the “oil,” God’s Holy Spirit. (3) Is a lack of understanding the Third angel’s message which is “Righteousness by Faith” in God’s “exceeding, great and precious promises.” 2 Peter 1:4. (See Desire of Ages page 123 – how Christ showed us how to be successful against the temptations of the Devil. . (4) A lack of understanding of the way God’s message is carried “with a loud voice” through the participation of each member using literature, tracts, and books to distribute “like the leaves of autumn. Each person can only talk to one person or one group of people at one time. Using literature, books and tracts you are able to talk to hundreds at the same time even while you are sleeping and they are not dependent on their memories of what you said. They can read it over and over again and share it with others. God tells us that “Satan deceives the whole world.” Do you think that includes Seventh-day Adventist Christians? What does the word deception mean? Deception means someone is lying to take something from someone else that does not belong to them. We are told that “Satan deceives the whole world.” Why would Satan lie to you and me? Because he wants to take away a gift that Jesus gives us, Eternal life. The sad thing is that he will be very successful with many according to Christ’s story of the five wise and five foolish virgins in Matthew 25:1-13. Notice they all had reasons to feel good about themselves. – (1) They were all “virgins.” They all had a “pure faith.” (2) They all had a knowledge of the Bible, they all had “lamps.” (3) They were all waiting for the “Bridegroom” (Jesus) to come. So they all had a good reason to feel good about themselves. There was only one problem half of them were “foolish” (unready for Jesus to come) and half of them were “wise” (ready for Jesus to come). But since they all felt good about themselves they did not recognize their need until it was too late – Half of them (in Christ’s Story) were LOST when He came and when He comes many people with (1) a “pure faith, who (2) read their Bibles and (3) look forward to seeing Jesus will be LOST – FOREVER LOST! - We don’t want to hear this because we like feeling “LUKEWARM” and comfortable about ourselves. Satan is palming off some wonderful sounding deceptions to the Christian world and the Christian world is eating them up with gusto and sharing them with the rest of the world. That is why Jesus forewarned us that the Devil and his teachings would enter most of the churches just prior to His second coming. . ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR FINAL TEST THAT YOU +MUST TAKE BEFORE YOUR GRADUATION FROM EARTH TO HEAVEN! ARE THOSE AROUND YOU, INCLUDING YOUR PASTOR READY? IS HE HELPING YOU UNDERSTAND AND PREPARE FOR YOUR FINAL TEST? . God is calling His people WAKE UP from their sleepy state. He’s calling upon His children to claim His promises for the vital oil, the Holy Spirit) all must have to go through the coming storm, “relentless in its fury.” When we go do school we must pass certain tests to continue on TOWARD graduation. God too has tests. Notice what all must pass through God’s final test. “All who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.” 2 Timothy 3:17. “The devil is about to throw some of you into PRISON, THAT YOU MAY BE TESTED, and you will have tribulation ten days. BE FAITHFUL UNTIL DEATH, AND I WILL GIVE YOU THE CROWN OF LIFE.” Revelation 2:10. “HE (SATAN) DECEIVES THOSE WHO DWELL ON THE EARTH . . . He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that NO ONE MAY BUY OR SELL except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Revelation 13:14-17. . YOUR TEST WILL INCLUDE SOME OF THE FOLLOWING TESTS - PRISON, DEATH, BOYCOTT, AND PERSECUTION! . You and I will be tested by “prison, death, boycott, and persecution.” Will you pass the test? Hide God’s promise in your heart – “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” Revelation 2:10. Don’t be afraid to die. Death is but a sleep that Jesus angel will awaken you out of and welcome you home to heaven and eternal everlasting life. . E.G. White writes, “Several have written to me, inquiring if the message of justification by faith is the Third Angel’s Message, and I have answered, It is the Third Angel’s Message in verity.-- Review and Herald, April 1, 1890. {Evangelism, page 190} THE THIRD ANGEL’S MESSAGE OFFERS YOU THE POWER TO SUCCEED WHEN THE WORLD IS FAILING AND MANY WITH WHOM YOU HAVE ATTENDED CHURCH BECOME YOUR MOST BITTER ENEMIES. WHAT IS THE SOURCE OF THAT POWER? . It is the third angel’s message – Righteousness by faith in God’s promises. “THE SAME POWER THAT CHRIST EXERCISED WHEN HE WALKED VISIBLY AMONG MEN IS IN HIS WORD. It was by His word that Jesus healed disease and cast out demons; by His word He stilled the sea and raised the dead, and the people bore witness that His word was with power. He spoke the word of God, as He had spoken to all the prophets and teachers of the Old Testament. The whole Bible is a manifestation of Christ. {MH 122.1} . WHEN CHRIST SPOKE TO THE PARALIZED BOY, HE WAS SPEAKING TO YOU ALSO! . “The Scriptures are to be received as Gods word to us, not written merely, but spoken. When the afflicted ones came to Christ, He beheld not only those who asked for help, but all who throughout the ages should come to Him in like need and with like faith. When He said to the paralytic, ‘Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee;’ when He said to the woman of Capernaum, ‘Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace,’ He spoke to other afflicted, sin-burdened ones who should seek His help. IN EACH PROMISE GOD IS SPEAKING TO YOU INDIVIDUALLY – This is the power of the third angel’s message – receive the power from each of God’s promises – (a) - Ask them, (b) - Believe them, (c) - Claim them (the ABCs of prayer) – the third angel’s message – receive the power today. . Notice how the most translated American author uses the words “(1) ASK, (2) BELIEVE AND (3) CLAIM” over and over in the “Righteousness by Faith” chapter “FAITH AND ACCEPTANCE” in the most translated modern Christian book in the world today Steps to Christ in over 150 languages! . E.G. White writes, “It is peace that you need--. . . God offers it to you as a gift, ‘without money and without price.’ Isaiah 55:1. It is yours if you will but reach out your hand and grasp it. The Lord says, ‘Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.’ Isaiah 1:18. ‘A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you.’ Ezekiel 36:26.” “You have confessed your sins, and in heart put them away. You have resolved to give yourself to God. Now go to Him, and ASK that He will wash away your sins and give you a new heart. Then BELIEVE that He does this because He has promised. This is the lesson which Jesus taught while He was on earth, that the gift which God promises us, we must BELIEVE we do receive, and it is ours. . . . You BELIEVE that promise. You confess your sins and give yourself to God. You will to serve Him. Just as surely as you do this, God will fulfill His word to you. IF YOU BELIEVE THE PROMISE,--BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE FORGIVEN AND CLEANSED,--GOD SUPPLIES THE FACT; YOU ARE MADE WHOLE, just as Christ gave the paralytic power to walk when the man BELIEVED that he was healed. IT IS SO IF YOU BELIEVE IT.” . “Do not wait to feel that you are made whole, but SAY, ‘I BELIEVE IT; IT IS SO, NOT BECAUSE I FEEL IT, BUT BECAUSE GOD HAS PROMISED.’ . “Jesus says, ‘what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, BELIEVE that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.’ Mark 11:24. There is a condition to this promise--that we pray according to the will of God. But it is the will of God to cleanse us from sin, to make us His children, and to enable us to live a holy life. So we may ASK FOR THESE BLESSINGS, AND BELIEVE THAT WE RECEIVE THEM, AND THANK GOD THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED THEM. It is our privilege to go to Jesus and be cleansed, and to stand before the law without shame or remorse. ‘There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.’ Romans 8:1.” . HOW TO BE ‘BORN AGAIN” . “Henceforth you are not your own; you are bought with a price. ‘Ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.’ 1 Peter 1:18, 19. THROUGH THIS SIMPLE ACT OF BELIEVING GOD, THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS BEGOTTEN A NEW LIFE IN YOUR HEART. YOU ARE AS A CHILD BORN INTO THE FAMILY OF GOD, and He loves you as He loves His Son.” “Now that you have given yourself to Jesus, do not draw back, do not take yourself away from Him, but DAY BY DAY SAY, ‘I AM CHRISTS; I HAVE GIVEN MYSELF TO HIM;’ AND ASK HIM TO GIVE YOU HIS SPIRIT AND KEEP YOU BY HIS GRACE. As it is by giving yourself to God, and believing Him, that you become His child, so you are to live in Him. The apostle says, ‘As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him.’ Colossians 2:6.” . “Some seem to feel that they must be on probation, and must prove to the Lord that they are reformed, before they can CLAIM HIS BLESSING. But they may CLAIM the blessing of God even now. They must have His grace, the Spirit of Christ, to help their infirmities, or they cannot resist evil. Jesus loves to have us come to Him just as we are, sinful, helpless, dependent. We may come with all our weakness, our folly, our sinfulness, and fall at His feet in penitence. It is His glory to encircle us in the arms of His love and to bind up our wounds, to cleanse us from all impurity.” . White. . WHAT ARE THE FACTS? . What are the facts? The facts are that just before Jesus comes the entire world will be deceived by Satan who comes as a lamb, a good and faithful church leader who “loves” his sheep. He comes with the heart of a wolf but the disguise of a lamb, a committed Christian with all the “right” “loving compassion.” All the right words, a perfect counterfeit. He comes a beautiful “angel of light.” Revelation 12:9; Matthew 7:15; 2 Corinthians 11:14. Let not the solemn scenes which prophecy has revealed, be left untouched. If our people were half awake, if they realized the nearness of the events portrayed in the REVELATION, a reformation would be wrought in our churches, and many more would believe the message.” {Evangelism, page 195} . “We have no time to lose; God calls upon us to watch for souls as they that must give an account. Advance new principles, and crowd in the clear-cut truth. It will be as a sword cutting both ways. But be not too ready to take a controversial attitude. There will be times when we must stand still and see the salvation of God. Let Daniel speak, let the REVELATION speak, and tell what is truth. But whatever phase of the subject is presented, uplift Jesus as the center of all hope, ‘the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright and morning Star.’--Testimonies to Ministers, p. 118. The truth it contains must be proclaimed, that people may have an opportunity to prepare for the events which are so soon to transpire. The Third Angel’s Message must be presented as the only hope for the salvation of a perishing world.--Letter 87, 1896. {Evangelism, page 195} . “The theme of greatest importance is the Third Angel’s Message, embracing the messages of the first and second angels. All should understand the truths contained in these messages and demonstrate them in daily life, for this is essential to salvation. Peter explains it like this Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ. Ephesians 5:25 -27; 1 Peter 4:12-13. Peter was speaking from experience. Peter, himself, did not believe Jesus when Jesus told Peter that He, Jesus, would die on a cross. Peter got converted and later Peter, himself, died on a cross.
