GOD’S BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR HIS CHILDREN Receive God’s way of salvation through His son Jesus Christ (1 John 4:14) Receive His Holy Spirit and leading for your life (John 16:13, Ephesians 5:18) Put God first above all (Matthew 6:33) Let God establish His love in your life (2 Thessalonians 3:3) Obey God (Deuteronomy 30:2, Acts 5:29) Be Holy for God is Holy (1 Peter 1:15, 16, Hebrews 12:14) Pray unceasingly and establish a sound relationship with Him (1 Thessalonians 5:17, Matthew 6:6) Fast and pray to overcome (2 Chronicles 7:14-16, Isaiah 58:6-14) Give Thanks for everything (1 Thessalonians 5:18) Praise Him continually (Hebrews 13:15) Sacrifice in praise (Hebrews 13:15, Psalms 22:3) Offering up spiritual sacrifices (1Peter 2:5,) Be a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1, Philippians 4:18) Worship Him in Spirit and in truth (John 4:23, Revelation 11:16-18) Meditate and study His word day and night (Joshua 1:7, 8, 2 Timothy 2:15) Keep the Sabbath and keep it Holy (rest) (Mark 2:27, Exodus 20:8) Trust in the Lord with all your heart (Proverbs 3:5, 6) Be willing to suffer for the sake of the cross (Psalm 34:17-19, Romans 5:3-5, James 1:2-4, Hebrews 5:8) Owe no one but to love them (Romans 13:8) Forgive to be forgiven (Matthew 6:14, Mark 11:25, 26, Matthew 18:21, 22, Colossians 3:12-17) Give honor to whom honor is due (Romans 13:7, 1 Peter 2:17) Live in peace with all as possible (2 Corinthians 13:11, 2 Timothy 2:22, 1 Corinthians 7:15) Treat others as you wish to be treated (Luke 6:31) Agree with one another in prayer (Matthew 18:19) Do not show favoritism (Acts 10:34, Deuteronomy 1:17, James 2:9) Abide by those in authority over you (Romans 13:1) Respect your elders (1 Timothy 5:1,) Submit to your elders (1 Peter 5:5) Honor your mother and your father (Exodus 20:12, Ephesians 6:1-3, Colossians 3:20, Proverbs 20:20) Give generously without prejudice (2 Corinthians 9:6-9) Give to the poor (Proverbs 21:13) Give to those who thirst (Matthew 25:35) Give to those who are hungry (Matthew 25:35) Clothe those who are naked (Matthew 25:36) Give to him who asks (Matthew 5:42) Do good to others, enemies and brethren alike (Romans 12:21, 1 Peter 3:17, Matthew 5:43-48) Be a blessing because you are blessed (Matthew 5:1-14, Matthew 5:43-48) Live up to God’s law of equality and unselfishness (2 Corinthians 8:10-15, Acts 2:44-47) Putting away the pointing of the finger (Isaiah 58) Give to God what He expects (Matthew 22:15-22, Malachi 3:8-12) Do not grow weary in well doing (2 Thessalonians 3:13) Be pleasing for the sake of one’s salvation (1 Corinthians 10:33) Keep the two commandments that fulfill all of the Law (Matthew 22:36-40) Be willing to give your life for your fellow man (John 15:13) Be willing to die from your own desires (John 12:24, 1 Corinthians 15:36, Romans 12:1, 2) Never leave your brother to stand alone (Genesis 4:9, 10) Share God’s love and salvation with as many as possible (1 Corinthians 10:33, Mark 16:15-18) Allow God to fulfill His will through your life (Matthew 7:21, James 4:17) Never deny God, His Son Jesus or Holy Spirit as deity (Matthew 10:33) Do everything as if you are doing it to the Lord (1 Corinthians 10:31) Pursue peace (Psalms 34:14, Hebrews 12:14) We are to be found faithful (1 Corinthians 4:2, Revelation 2:10) Need to be found persevering (Revelation 3:10) Need to be found enduring (Matthew 10:22) To be counted as worthy (Luke 21:36) James 1:22 (NKJV) 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Therefore, Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; Philippians 2:12 All of this is summed up in one word Love wrapped in a strong layer of humility which can withstand many things. Centered in the one who recognizes His or hers sinfulness or a contrite heart. A sacrifice that has been made perfect that cannot be denied nor erased for all eternity. For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Isaiah 57:15 May the Lord be magnified and glorified in everything we do and say as His chosen bride to come. God’s grace to be found graceful! Let us humble ourselves before the mighty hand of God! Many will say that the grace of God is enough there is nothing that we are required to do to be saved? Really then why did Jesus share with us what He expects for all who are called by His name to accomplish and adhere to which comes directly from the heart of our Father? We are not to forsake doing good deeds regardless of the outcome to ourselves! Jesus became the perfect drink offering for all of us. Should we not follow in His footsteps? Luke 22:20 20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you. Jesus gave up all of Himself for all of us unselfishly and many of us cannot even give up what we have for our neighbors or brothers and sisters in Christ. This is His word, is it not? And we know that God is not a liar. Romans 3:4 4 Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written: “That you may be justified in your words, and may overcome when you are judged.” Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation{emptied, poured out Himself}, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. … 17 But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all. Philippians 2:5-11, 17 What shall I render to the LORD for all His benefits toward me {all He has poured out on Me}? I will lift up the cup of salvation {deliverance} and call on the name of the LORD. I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all His people. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. O LORD, truly I am your servant; I am your servant, the son of your maidservant; you have freed me from my chains. To You I shall offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and call upon the name of the LORD. Psalm 116:12-17 Remember it is Jesus that is teaching this! Luke 20:17 17 Then He looked at them and said, “What then is this that is written: ‘The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone’? Therefore we are to become in like manner the chief cornerstone as Christ was and is to those around us holding them up in their time of need. Matthew 25:31-46 31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, and then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ 41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’ 44 “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Furthermore in the book of James the Holy Spirit is leading us to see that one’s faith and Love must be proven through action by way of certain deeds. These deeds define what manner of love we walk in therefore defining the salvation of God for the sake of the lost. Just as Jesus did! James 2:20 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 1 Corinthians 10:33 33 just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved. The Lord wishes for the Lost as well as the found that they may taste His love through our lives as we become His living sacrifices; Romans 12:1 (Amplified Bible) 1 I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. Being found to be laborers in and of His love. Why else would His word say that we are to taste and see that the Lord is good? Psalm 34:7-9 8 Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him! The world needs to taste and see through our living sacrifices that the Lord is good. Remember there is no partiality with God so there will not be any excuses. Romans 2:11 11 For there is no partiality with God. Deuteronomy 1:17 17 You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small as well as the great; you shall not be afraid in any man’s presence, for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too hard for you, bring to me, and I will hear it.’ James 2:9 9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. Just as well He is not a respecter of persons. Acts 10:34 34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. Acts 10:34 (Amplified Bible) 34 And Peter opened his mouth and said: Most certainly and thoroughly I now perceive and understand that God shows no partiality and is no respecter of persons.
