GOD’S GIFT IS LOVE What is this emotion, how did it arrive Experienced on earth, in all who are alive From within, we all want it so And To receive from others, any lengths we will go Now it was in beginning, way back then When our Lord, made us , women and men As he placed himself, into the first one of each And forever more, his Love they must teach To be passed on, to daughter and son The only thing that lasts, a life of things won But It did not take long, for evil to enter the fable When Cain discarded God’s Love, and killed his brother Able A precious gift from God, it is the only thing That really gives us joy, and makes Angels sing Many show it daily, to pets and others But refuse to show it, to the world’s sisters and brothers And when God, sent his Son to prove his love The earth refused, to accept and look up above God’s earth still so angry, no good words we can say Wars and horror, we experience each day Various groups of people yell you must follow me My God is right, yours cannot be Somehow I know, our Lord does have tears As he has watched his gift, erode over the years All are taught his Love, and say they know it So why do they, so freely ignore it ? Satan is laughing, as he has done so from the beginning My heart aches each day, as his way seems to be winning Little time is left, as the Lord will not wait For all people on earth, to go through the gate Now is the time, like no other To show and tell of God’s love, to our world’s sister and brother TrkrGramps May, 2002
