Additionally the Gitameit Choir and the BARS Choir with the Masters Of Harmony Chorale will sing a few solo pieces out of their repertoire. The roots of *Gospel Music* can be found in the church music of worship services that the enslaved Africans in the US had to attend and that they enriched with their traditional African music. Most of their churches did not have musical instruments to use so that most of the singing was done a cappella . They become so popular that they turned in to a new style of church music that the white Americans took on and brought them further to Europe and Australia. *Conductor: Johannes Hüttenmüller* He was born in 1967 in northern Germany. After receiving a master degree in Musicology in Berlin he continued studying church music and became a church musician at the St. Norbert Church in Berlin. He is also a skilled pianist and a keyboarder in multiple bands and founded his own music label in 1992. Since 2009 he works as a free-lance choir conductor specialized on Gospel Music and conducts several choirs, performing at various big events such as the ECHO award ceremony 2013 and the Gospel-Benefiz-Konzert in Berlin Schöneberg. *Masters of Harmony Chorale *with 20 young talented singers was formed in 2011 by the young choir conductor Joshua Myat Zaw who also leads the *BARS Choir *of the Myanmar Institute for Theology with 30 music major students. *Gitameit Music Center* was started in 2003 in order to build a supportive community of musicians and audiences locally, and to encourage meaningful contact with international institutions, teachers and performers. Gitameit is a non-profit community center and music school in Yankin Tsp, Yangon devoted to music teaching & nurturing, performing, offering exchange possibilities for Myanmar students to study abroad, and inviting international artists & teachers for performances and workshops in Yangon. The Gitameit Voices Choir is the first non-secular choir in Yangon and it’s leader is U Moe Naing. *Two musicians from the Myanmar *Hein Tint Hsaing Waing Group* will join the concert for a special choir arrangement of a traditional Burmese song. The concert is organized and sponsored by the GOETHE INSTITUT YANGON*.*
