THEN, THERE WILL BE A SEMINAR/ORIENTATION THIS COMING SATURDAY, JANUARY 10 FROM 8 TO 11AM... DETAILS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AGAIN... THANKS! NOTES taken at the ARCH of Manila ECOlogy Meeting MON Dec 29, 2014: I. RATIONALE: THE ECOLOGY MINISTRY NETWORK OF THE ECCLESIASTICAL PROVINCE OF Manila, especially the Diocese of Imus, Pque, Antiplo, Kalookan and Arch of Manila would like to propose Maka-Kalikasang Kaayusan sa Pagdiriwang mg Banal na Misa ng Santo Papa sa Luneta and then we offer our services together with at least 1,200 ECOlogy volunteers including some of the street people who usually assist us during Quiapo Fiesta and excluding 500 El Shaddai contingents. There will be more than 2,000 volunteers including the government groups. We can serve as the coordinating group between govt waste management group and the other volunteers. II. OBJECTIVES: The following are proposed: 1. Educate people on environment advocacies of Pope Francis esp on care for Gods creation through non-wasteful life style 2. Ensure that along the routes, around the venue, before, during and after the con-celebrated Holy Mass of Pope Francis at the Luneta park and Quirino Grandstand will remain free of garbage and ensure the recycling of all gathered trash. 3.Assist in the observance and maintenance of peace and order during the celebration. III. MECHANICS 1. Each archdiocese will recruit and give proper orientation seminars to their volunteers who are 18 years old and above. 2. At least 10-30 parish volunteers (in additon to the parish representative as human guides along the route) will be assigned to become ECO-stewards and managers in the Papal convoy routes from the arrival to the Nunciature and to the different venues of activities to ensure the maintenance of cleanliness and order. 3. at least 10 parish volunteers per area to supervise and remind people in the maintenance of the streets in coordination w/ baranggays and other groups. 4. a truck of EMRT/RCAM will go around to pick up the trash gathered by volunteers. 5. 3-5 team of volunteers will be assigned in at least 100 sq meters area of Luneta as educators and waste station carrying trash bags and a placard of reminders/markers (at least 7-10 teams per quadrant). 6. A main station may be set up at the left side of the elevated grounds fronting the grandstand or anywhere near Kalaw St. 7. Streamers. 8. Media reminders at least 2 weeks before the event. 9. All volunteers will wear uniform shirt. (Green - Php 175) - JPIC SCHOLARSHIP will provide this 10. EMAIL NAMES OF ALL VOLUNTEERS BY DEC. 31, 2014. MEETING ON SUN JAN 4, 2015 OF ALL VOLUNTEERS TASKS OF VOLUNTEERS: 1. Keep the placard / marker raised (take turns / members of the team) 2. Make sure 5 transparent trash bags are available per team. 3. If area is not yet congested, move around to offer the trash bags separately (for wet and dry garbage) THINGS AND SUPPLIES THAT EACH TEAM SHOULD HAVE: 1. Placard 2. 5-6 trash bags 3. a pair of latex gloves per person 4. flashlight 5. cellphone with camera. Cellphone should have full load 6. water and your food 7. umbrella / head cap / raincoat / jacket 8 .extra plastic bags SCHEDULES Dec 29, 2014 Dec 31, 2014 - Deadline - SUBMISION 1) Ful name 2) age - 18 and above 3) Male or Female 3:30 Mass Jan 14 -15 SUN Jan 4 - General Assembly - General Assembly and Orientation RCAM Jan 7, 2014 - 9-5pm Distributon of Materials to different Dioceses Jan 10, 2015 - 1-4 pm - Meeting and Orientation of School Representation Jan 8, 2015 - 9am. - Set-up and posting of STREAMERS around Luneta Jan 12, 2015 Distribution of Materials and Supplies Jan 11, 2015 - 9am-12pm Coordination Meeting of Quadrant team Jan 15, 2015 10am-3pm - Posting of Streamers along the route and should be posted already to monitor. 3-8PM - All assigned volunteers along Villamor, EDSA to Nunciature maintain cleanliness. 3pm - 1 EMRT /RCAM truck already stationed pick-up the gathered trash at 6:45 pm when the Papal convoy leaves Villamor towards the Nunciature. All volunteers must be in their places of assignment at least 3 hours before. Jan 18 - 5a.m. Setting up the ECO teams at the Luneta. volunteers will stay after to clear up the trash.
