GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!! IF YOU HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING ME ON MY POST, I WANT TO SHIFT GEARS FOR JUST A MOMENT. In studying I have ran across some very important information that we should consider. We have been talking about the anointing and what was used to anoint and who was anointed. I want to back up for just a minute. If you would politely turn your Bibles to Exodus 30:31-33. And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, This shall be a holy anointing oil to me throughout your generations. It shall not be poured upon mans flesh, neither shall you make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy to you. Whoever compounds any like it, or whoever puts any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people. The holy anointing oil comprised of five ingredients (Exodus 30:22-25), liquid or pure myrrh, sweetsmelling cinnamon, sweet-smelling cane and cassia, referred to as the principal (or quality) spices mixed in olive oil, which is supposed to be the best preservative of odors. Likewise the holy perfume or confection (Exodus 30:34) comprised of frankincense, stacte, galbanum, onycha and sweet cane. While the quantities and method of compounding are fairly explained Exodus 30:22-25 & 34-38) the making and use were restricted on threat of excommunication. The holy anointing and sweet smelling perfume, each in different ways, speak of the gifts and graces of the Holy Spirit. In Psalm 133:2 we have a picture of what true anointing is and how it functions: Please read! The precious or holy oil flowing down the hair and beard and garments of the OT high priest and never once touching the flesh is a perfect picture of the anointing. Flesh will destroy the fragrance. No flesh shall glory in His presence. Christ is the Head and thats where the anointing resides. It flows all over the body robed in the righteousness of Christ. BLESS YOU!!!
