GOODLUCK SUPPORT GROUP IN TARABA STATE. Precisely june 26th, 2014, the acting national coordinator of the Goodluck Support Group (GSG) Dr. Eddy Olafeso took time to visit Taraba State, to see things for himself. One of the high point of this visit was courtesy call on the acting governor Alhaji Garba Umar (UTC). The visit which was facilitated by the Goodluck Support office in the state was significant in many respects. One, the visit which took him round the state capital Jalingo had provided him with ample opportunity to see the work the state chapter for the group had been doing and the level of support the GSG had been getting from ordinary citizens of the state. Youths groups, women associations, grass root based political unions and many other cooperate bodies had already keyed into the activities of the GSG with visible signs all over the place as opened demonstrations of their sincerity in this onerous task of ensuring the continuity of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. Two, visiting a state that had just been trying to establish her structure for the GSG had given both the national office and the state chapter that needed time frame and leverage to make amends so as to avoid the issue of instituting an uncoordinated programme of action. Early mistakes could be corrected without living any impression. This is important because starting on good footing normally yield better result. Even during the visit such conversations were made and immediately tackled. Three, the overall contact initiated by the state office and other consultations at the state level had been strengthened by the visit of the team led by the acting coordinator. Beautiful results had started coming in as a fall out from the visit. Already, the sixteen local government areas of the state had been sensitized and are ready by this visit been moved to roll out series of activities that will later culminate into a grand rally to garner support for his excellency president Jonathan. What is remarkable to me in all these is the call of the acting governor Alhaji Garba Umar UTC. Even before I took the acting coordinator to the government house, he already had premonition of his Excellency the acting governor on the unflinching support his Excellency president Good luck Jonathan has been getting from government house in Jalingo and the entire state generally. The reception accorded the acting national coordinator was over whelming while in the government house. The acting Governor spoke from the depth of his heart and the assurances coming from accorded from him erodes any doubt by anybody as the sincerity of purpose by the acting governor to work hard for the successful return of Mr President. We were all reassured by his frankness and opened display of commitment to a course. Little had we know that we were connecting with a father that is truthful in his relationship with his fellow human. This is a man that is straight forward on political matters without minding whose ox is gored. His believe is that let the good work of his Excellency president Jonathan continues so that he can take Nigeria to the needed level of development we are all yearning for. His Excellency, the acting Governor, Alhaji Garba Umar is a man who believes in the value of mankind, within this few months of his ascension as acting Governor in a challenging circumstance, he had try to unveil the leadership traits in him by working hard to build the confidence of the ordinary citizens and strived to put the needed infrastructural facilities that we all desire to enjoy. Roads, hospitals, schools, water and provision of agricultural inputs being instituted in the state are some glaring performance this gentleman had recorded in the face of the security challenges bedevilling the north eastern region the country in which Taraba state is located. In spite of all the trails by hoodlums to slow down the pace of his developmental strides through communal crises he had been working hard sleeplessly to ensure security of lives and properties of his citizenry. One will therefore wonder when such a personality is coming out with the whole of his might to put his weight behind Mr President who had been facing and equally dealing with similar challenges in the whole country. The Goodluck support group GSG in the state and at national will ever remain grateful to his visionary, sincere and committed leader of clean political records. Even from his outfit one can tell his minds. Clean outfit begets clean heart, so they say. We are therefore faced with an enormous task of selling out these tested men of proven political integrity with high records of performance in the delivering of the dividends of democracy to the electorates. The combination of President Good luck Jonathan and Alhaji Garba Umar UTC will surely bring in the desired goals of democracy to the country and the state, As we roll out our activities to connect with political minded individuals in the state for final lunching of our group, we humbly invite all to join this great move to keep our country on its growing path.
