GOONERS TAKING THE LEAD AGAINST FASCISM AND APARTHEID IN FOOTBALL. When Labour Party leadership candidate David Milliband was unable to prevent he appointment of the self confessed fascist Paulo di Canio as manager of Sunderland the "bosses" of football showed their true colours and hypocrisy on the burning issue of racism, and its worst manifestation Apartheid. Milliband to his credit resigned in protest. What is so worrying about this matter is that not one Chairperson, CEO, director, manager or ant senior office holder in football raised a voice in protest. De Canio is not a closet fascist, but a public supporter of fascism. His Fascist salute is notorious in Italy, His back is covered with a tattoo of fascist imagery, including an eagle, fascist symbols and a portrait of Mussolini. It is this hypocrisy at the very top of football that not only tolerates Fascism and Apartheid but REWARDS them. De Canio had no evidence of successful management in Football, but a world wide record of Fascism. Last nights attack on the restaurant was appalling, and rightly condemned widely, but not the work of the organized Fascists.
