@GOVERNOR_AHMED DONATES BUSES TO STUDENTS The Kwara State Executive Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed yesterday donated 2 brand new 18 seater Toyota buses to Students Union in th State. Represented by the state Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Alhaji Aliyu Wahab Opakunle at the occasion in his office Fate Road, said the welfare of students would continue to receive high prority from the State government. According to a release issued by the press secretary of the ministry of Tertiary Education, Alhaji Nma Ibrahim, the commissioner said, as a listening and caring governor, the promise made by him of providing vehicles for the students has been fulfilled, urging them to take proper care of them. The Governor has also appointed a new Special Assistant on Students Affairs in person of Mr. Adewumi Patrick Adekunle. The appointment was announced by the commissioner , Alhaji Wahab Opakunle who urged the students to live in peace and tranquility at their various campuses and be law abiding all the times. Speaking, the permanent Secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Jibril Baba Haruna said the State Government would continue to be kind to students in the state. Responding on behalf of the Students Government, the President of the National Association of Nigeria Students Joint Campuses Committee, Comrade Ibrahim Rasaq Jeje, appreciated the Governor’s gesture and promised to maintain cordial working relationship with the state government. Responding, the new Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Affairs, Mr. Adewumi Patrick Adekunle, thanked Governor Ahmed for the gesture promising to justify the confidence reposed in him. He further reaffirmed that the appointment would further cement good relationship with Students Unions. The two Associations that benefitted from the gift of buses are National Association of Kwara State Students (National Headquarters) and National Association of Nigeria Students Joint Students Campuses Committee Kwara State branch.
