GP services have reached crisis point warns BMA Shortage of GPs predicted as large numbers plan to retire while fewer junior doctors are willing to enter general practice, British Medical Association warns. A lack of doctors willing to train as GPs and large numbers of mature doctors planning to retire, has meant general practice has reached crisis point, the British Medical Association has warned. The number of training places is not expanding fast enough and there has been a significant drop in the number of applicants, a document from the union has warned. The paper, which has not yet become official BMA policy, said a number of factors have come together to create a perfect storm that will result in a significant shortfall of GPs. telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/10795916/GP-services-have-reached-crisis-point-warns-BMA.html
