As of July 31st, after 40 years of ministry, the last eighteen - TopicsExpress

As of July 31st, after 40 years of ministry, the last eighteen with Zwingli Church in Monticello (WI), I have retired. I have been blessed with a wonderful, supportive spouse, good kids (and now son in law, daughter in law, and grandson) and many great folks in the congregations I have served. What am I doing now? Continuing to clear out the parsonage in preparation for the next pastor. I have made nine trips to St. Vincent de Paul in Monroe with my pick-up filled, and have completely filled two large dumpsters. It is one thing to pack up and transport to the next place when there is room in the next place; but when the next place has less than half the square footage in both living space and storage space than the former, it makes the process much, much more challenging. Plus, Pansy has been laid up with a broken heal. Thankfully, she has been able to provide some advisory assistance in terms of what to keep and what to dispose. Well, I am almost done -- hoping to complete it all by the weekend. You will hear me hoot and holler when the job is completed. Then it may hit me that I have retired. But we have a six month old grandson and a granddaughter on the way, and I look forward to active grandparenting. Plus, Ive got a number of other things Id like to work on.
