GRACIES PLEA: This is Gracie and she urgently needs our village - TopicsExpress

GRACIES PLEA: This is Gracie and she urgently needs our village of angels to come together to get her freedom back. Gracie was rescued from MAS on the day she was scheduled to be euthanized with a foster home secured. She lost her foster home through no fault of her own or her fosters and now, instead of enjoying her second chance with a soft bed to curl up on and grass between her toes, she is living day-in/day-out in a cage at a boarding facility. She is losing hope in there and it is literally ripping my heart out. Each visit with her is getting more difficult to leave than the last. The look of sheer joy and elation when shes let out of her cage to play with me in the yard immediately turns to confusion and panic when I lock the cage and walk away and its breaking my heart. If you know anyone that might be willing to help this sweet girl, please send them my way. Please help me get her story out there because I KNOW there is someone among all these rescues and dog lovers in this city that can offer refuge for her, even if its just a few days at a time. My friends at the boarding facility say Gracie is very confident, highly intelligent and is very exuberant around other dogs, exhibiting mostly puppy play behaviors (she is approx 1 year old). Gracie is part of Baileys Arms Rescue, adoptable through their website, and I am sponsoring her so anyone interested in fostering will have everything they need provided for her. I cannot continue to let her live day after day behind bars waiting for the perfect family to notice her on the Internet. Please help me share Gracies story so her happily ever after can begin now. She needs a hero to step up and show her that there is more to her life than being in a cage. Her statistics up until now: ~ 6 weeks spent in Memphis animal services surrounded by and covered in her own feces and urine (she actually had it dried in and caked onto her fur and feet). 13 days in foster home, learning basic commands and crate training/excellent demeanor around people and children (foster had to give Gracie up through no fault of their own or Gracies). She is now on Day 13 in a boarding facility. If she is 1 year old then that means she has already spent approximately 15% of her already short lifespan in a cage. Each day is crucial to her development and only a small amount of time is needed from a foster. If you know anyone that could volunteer just a few weeks to help her, it would mean the world to this dog...and me.
