GRAMBLING RAMBLING: GRAMBLING IN LITERATURE, ART, AND MUSIC! Hollywood History is Grambling History Hollywood has benefited tremendously from the talent of at least five individuals with Grambling connections. I will recognize these individuals in alphabetical order. GHS Alum Lena Claybon who has written for both stage and screen. I was lucky enough to catch one of her workshops a few summers ago for novice writers who aspire to follow in her footsteps. Amazing talent! GSU Alum Judi Ann Mason who established herself as a playwright who could evoke both tears and laughter in equal measure. Truly missed! Ms. Lynn Whitfield, an accomplished and internationally recognized actress who is the niece of our very own longtime Grambling resident and former physical education and dance instructor Mrs. Thelma Smith Williams. In fact, I have been watching movies I missed earlier, and I just saw Ms. Whitfield in Mama I Want to Sing. Wonderful job! GHS Alum Mr. Gussie Williams, a long-time and sought after Hollywood stuntman whose name regularly appears in movie credits. Actually, I think he has the Baton Rouge/New Orleans market wrapped up! GSU Alum Ms. Danette Wilson who is a relative newcomer to Tinseltown; however, she is versatile within the craft and has built quite a professional resume in film, commercial, and theater. And, she has vocal ability, as well. I see she was one of the backup singers for Michael Buble’. Impressive! As I always say, Grambling is everywhere, every day. Enjoy the game and be safe! imdb/name/nm2203497/resume
