GRASSROOTS, presented by Saga Fest, was an inspiring event yesterday for me personally and hopefully for the community as well. Just hours before the event started, there was a lot of work & love that went into designing the experience. It was beautiful to see people Ive never met before as well as people who have become family working together to build the event. I was full of gratitude. Everyone worked together to put up the tent, construct the stage, conduct sound checks and A/V, photograph the process, bake the dessert, design the signs, light the candles, untangle the craft necklaces...the event was a success thanks to this co-creation effort by the community. This is exactly what Saga Fest is all about and I am so excited to see what an even larger community can create next May. Collaborator and birthday boy Csaba deserves much of the credit for yesterday, and the brilliant and talented artists slowsteps, Olèna Simon, Fannar Ásgrímsson, Róbert MIkael and Sindri Geirsson!
