GREAT DORSET STEAM FAIR AT BURNHAM-ON-SEA CARNIVAL Last night, some of the GDSF team took part in the Burnham-On-Sea Carnival and what a fantastic carnival it was too! We even won fourth place in the Trade Category. The Somerset Carnivals are highly regarded as the largest illuminated procession in the world with the carts being designed and built by dedicated Carnival Clubs around the West Country. The club members raise money throughout the year to help fund their clubs. For the past ten years numerous Carnival Clubs have volunteered as Stewards at the Great Dorset Steam Fair, stewarding on our pedestrian crossings as well as in the Heavy Haulage Arena, and in return the Great Dorset Steam Fair gives donations to the Carnival Clubs. Last night we got to see the results of each of the Carnival Clubs hard work - and it was spectacular! Our Publicity Trailer will also be attending the Weston-Super-Mare Carnival on Friday 8th November and Glastonbury Carnival on Saturday 16th November.
