GREEN MATTERS...JUNE 2013 Saving Energy this Summer.... There are a lot of things that you can do dur-ing the hot summer months to conserve en-ergy and lower your electric bill. They may seem like simple tasks, but they add up to energy savings in a big way. During the summer months set your thermo-stat to 78 degrees Fahrenheit, and 68 de-grees Fahrenheit in the winter. Make sure to change you a/c filters once a month. Close window blinds and shades in the summer to keep out the heat. The early morning hours or late evenings are best for bathing and washing dishes instead of during the day. This will prevent excess humidity during the hottest part of the day.
