GREENS RD, WARRIMOO FIRE UPDATE - 1450HRS 14/11/14. Watch and Act - Greens Rd, Warrimoo (Blue Mountains LGA) Posted: 2014-11-14 14:50 Firefighters and aircraft are working on a fire near Greens Road at Warrimoo in the Blue Mountains. The fire is not contained. Current Situation The fire is burning in bushland between Greens Road and Florabella Street, Warrimoo. An Aircrane has been deployed to the area to assist firefighters, as the fire is burning in a difficult to reach area. The fire is burning in a south-easterly direction towards Baden Place, Blaxland. Crews are working to contain spotfires that have developed ahead of the main fire. Advice Students at Warrimoo Public School are safe and being cared for by staff. Firefighters are at the school as a precaution. Parents are being given supervised access to the school by Police. The regular school bus will be escorted from the school at 3.15pm. People in the area around Baden Place, Bridge Road, Boynton Street and Bourke Street in Blaxland should monitor the situation. Be aware of smoke and possible burning embers. Follow advice from firefighters on the scene. If your plan is to leave, or you are not prepared, leave early. Well prepared and actively defended homes can offer safety during the fire.
