GRHS Video Tech Class Wins Third Place in Statewide Contest The Texas Regional Office for The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children recently held the 2014 Safer Texas Public Service Announcement Contest. It was open to all Texas high school and middle school students. Using this years theme of I Dont Stand By, contestants created a PSA to encourage their peers to practice good netiquette and to provide help publicly or privately for victims of cyberbullying. Project leader, Miranda Willis, led the GRHS Video Tech students as they worked together to create the video from start to finish. Their teacher, Vicki Dunn, was not allowed to help the students, so the entire production was all student-directed from plot to finished video. The music was original, created by the students in Garage Band, a music creation studio included in their MacBook. Students from Mrs. Stephensons class played the part of the bullies. Mrs. Goebel was the enforcer. Out of 51 entries across the state of Texas, their video submission won third place in the high school competition. Congratulations to all!
