GROANER BUOY STRIPERS The groaner buoy is anchored outside Gloucester’s outer harbor, placed to warn mariners as they approach the rocky coast and mentioned by T.S. Elliot in a poem for the distinctive sound it makes. For striper fishermen at night, the sound is a beacon leading them to one of the most productive areas for large fish in all of New England. These fish are hook and line caught and we will have it on special tonight!
