GUYS? PLEASE READ AND LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS/OPINIONS. I need 10 to 15 comments T.T pleaseeee! Thankyou and Godbless. ~ for POLSCIE Project. (SONA OF THE PRESIDENT) I have heard pretty much more or less about 10 State of the Nation Addresses by many presidents. They all have told the same common and general thing, that they being the president of the country for this year have done so much to help the Philippines. With investments coming in, roads and buildings constructed, health, education and insurance growths. Believe me when I say I have heard it all. Pnoy’s SONA is the same things I have heard other presidents say. They boast numerous and countless achievements in their term but still I have never yet to hear a truthful lay down of the Philippines in every SONA. Philippine President Benigno Simeon “BS” Aquino successfully delivered his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City. Just like his previous SONAs, we can all expect him to start off with motherhood statements and then proceed to bash the people he thinks are getting in the way of his agenda. His previous SONAs have become so formulaic so much so that some Filipinos think that he’s just wasting everybody’s time. He discussed matters regarding the country’s economy, defenses, public works, education, and many more. For five consecutive years, Aquino used Filipino language for the delivery of SONA. At exactly 4:03 in the afternoon local time, President Noynoy Aquino (PNoy) started his 5th SONA in front of Philippine Senate and House of Representatives. Besides warming up for President Benigno Aquino III’s fifth SONA, the frenzied red carpet fashion event featuring our congressmen and senators is also a venue for making fashion statements. With three impeachment complaints now dangling against PNoy, for instance, lawmakers under the Makabayan Coalition are set to attend the affair in varying shades of peach, a clear defiance of the chief executive’s call for his supporters to don the “presidential yellow.” “Peach is the color of the impeachment process. Peach represents the people’s call for Aquino’s removal from office,” noted Kabataan Party-list Rep. Terry Ridon, a member of the Makabayan bloc, in a press statement. In the midst of hardships brought by the calamities that has badly hit the country, rising poverty and unemployment rates, and the controversial DAP and PDAF issues, to name a few, there has also been a clamor by some organizations to tone down this year’s fashion parade. This year, Kris Aquino and her sisters became emotional during the fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) of their brother, President Benigno Aquino III. The Fifth State of the Nation address was attended by thousands of officials and delegates. Some spectators were celebrities. One of those was Filipino boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao’s mother Mommy Dionisia. Mommy D wore a white terno with apple-green, floral details designed by Gin Villamayor. Assunta de Rossi, Heart Evangelista, and Richard and Lucy Gomez Aside were among the several other celebrities who walked the SONA red carpet. For me the real problem there is politics. It is a dirty business. People want to win elections, be the best, and of course want to show their best. Politics is a world so deranged that what all politicians do nowadays, is give free food for everyone in the barangay and they instantly win. Has winning come down to such levels that people really do not care anymore? It is true, that people want to rise from the ranks of poverty, but they should not rely on any politician. Ang sitwasyon natin: Para bang kahibangan ang mangarap. May burukrasyang walang saysay, patong-patong ang tongpats, at bumubukol ang korupsyon sa sistema. Naturingan tayong “Sick Man of Asia.” – Pnoy.
