GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Griffins used some key shooting from downtown to pull away from visiting Marywood, 78-67, in Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Saturday. Gwynedd Mercy connected on 10 three-pointers for the game, five in each half, all coming in bunches. After the Pacers would take a late four-point lead in the first half, the Griffins fired of treys from Justin Knight (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) and Darnell Artis (Philadelphia, Pa./LaSalle College H.S.) to take a 33-29 edge into the locker room. Artis would finish with a game-high 19 points. Knight added 17 along with eight boards, four assists, and two steals. His five three-pointers tied a career high. Freshman Cedric Elleby (Monroeville, N.J./Delsea) also grabbed eight boards while scoring 11 points and blocking three shots. Junior Seth Heinicke (Warminster, Pa./Calvary) recorded 12 points and six rebounds.
