After reading the Jack Canon series I was surprised at the soft spoken simplicity and sensitivity of the story of Gabby. Somewhere between a 1940s melodrama and the current crop of angel / demon stories be it in novels or on television, Gabby fits in its own unique space. I have had some recent tragic losses in my life and had lost hope that death was just that. Reading Gabby inspired and renewed my faith that there is that paranormal space that we can experience if we believe. Gabby is able to renew Bos faith and better his life by purifying his soul and showing him that Angels do exist on this earth and in eternity. He finds his second true love that is unattainable to him, but he also finds his true love again because he earned it. One can only dream of such an experience. I also have a stronger belief that the evil that exists on this earth each has its own time to meet with the Messenger of their doom. An exquisite vision of a girl with long chestnut hair blown lightly on the wind. I try to speak and tell her, “You have the deepest cocoa brown eyes and longest lashes,” she doesn’t hear me. I looked around me at the cage in alarm. “What are you showing me? That the darkness gets us off track. It imprisons us?” “Not really, but it definitely keeps you from seeing. If there weren’t free will it would be like you were in this cage all the time; confined and unable to do what you really wanted to do. Having free will liberates you to make your own choices. Unfortunately there is nobody who is perfect and will never make bad choices.” She waived her hands again and the cage was gone. “Bo, I know you won’t understand fully, but part of you - the biggest part, is with Him now, and so is Sally.” “Gabby, you’re blowing my mind…” “Bo, your soul is huge and it shines.
