Gah... For every self checkout, there is an immediate supervisor at the store; there is a manufacturing line building these things. Then there are the people in the call center for customer support, the tech support and the people who are servicing these things; all (save for the call center people if they are by-the-binder types) jobs that are going somewhere or teaching a skill rather than just checking people out at a dead end job. But you heard them, Being Liberal would rather you have a menial, low paying dead end job than to actually have a great career.
