Gah you have GOT to be kidding me.. We have illegal immigrants coming across the borders in droves, getting welfare and healthcare - but my children can not get an effing drivers PERMIT?? First off - You have to have drivers ed.. In Texas - This is a 300$ endeavor. You can do it online for $100.00. However you have to spend an additional $50.00 to be certified as a parent teacher. Then - once your kid finishes the 37 credit hours of course work, which can not be done within 25 days... AND you have completed the 15 hour parent taught instructional. AND youve sent off your 20$ PER KID fee for parent taught paperwork AND gotten it back before your kid finishes the online course or else you would have to do the course over again... THEN you go to the DMV... At the DMV you need proof they go to school - high school records and a letter from the principle saying the kid is in good standing and goes to that school. You need birth certificate - and insurance card (health not car) Certificate of finishing online drivers ed 2 forms of mail proving you live where you live, despite parents living here.. I mean.. REALLY? THEN you need the social security card - not the number the CARD.. Seriously -- an Illegal (there is a distinction) immigrant can get food stamps and healthcare, while we as a country spend billions on DUI attorneys, and speeding tickets, but my kids cant get a friggin PERMIT (not even a license) without 17 forms of ID and 4 years of college.
