#GamerGate Emotions are really high after the MSNBC interview. Most people are disheartened and feel like the side of the argument who have press backing have won, and that the public will turn on them thanks to misinformation with lack of full representation. The reality of this is, those who have the press behind them believe that they control the narrative, but as with most things this is just propaganda in an ongoing conflict. Its often funny to think that were constantly blamed as the cause of all the worlds ills, and thanks to instances like this, its quite easy to point the finger, but lets stop for a moment and think this through; How many times have you seen a child misbehave and think Im glad I dont have kids or some variation of that mindset? How many times have you seen a conflict and thought negatively about an entire group of people based on the actions of one or a small group of those individuals? Remember the collective backlash against Middle Easterners after 9/11? Im sure a lot of people would like to forget that short period of time, but a lot of those people you gave those dirty looks to were just as disgusted at the actions of Al Qaeda, as you were. Gamers are not terrorists. were not ISIS. Were not murderous rapist Misogynistic hackers hell bent on eradicating women from Gaming. What we are, however, are your neighbors, your co-workers, your friends, The guy at the store who helps you find that present for your kids, Grand-kids or your nephews or nieces. Most of all were people, just like you. We live, we go to work, we pay taxes, and a lot of us have families, and strong relationships. The narrative that is trying to be pushed into todays media is that women are the target of this campaign, but Women have been gamers as long as men have. My mother, my cousins, my girlfriends, my fiancé. They have always been gamers. The fond memories I have about gaming start with my Mother taking me to the arcade every Saturday afternoon, and watching her play Ms PacMan. Female gamers are taking to their own Youtube accounts and talking about how theyre fed up with this, as well. Gaming saved them from depression and the terrors of every day life. Gaming saved one of them from suicide after a life of being molested. Our terrorists, Ladies and Gentlemen! youtu.be/C2OxeWCe5Dg GamerGate as a movement has no leadership, we have a bunch of angry voices, but thats the same as any passionate group of angry consumers, but if you feel like someone gypped you on a product, you dont see that opposing company slandering you in a public forum. Cigarette companies may have deflected the arguments against them, but they never called their opposition Racist misogynistic hacker terrorists . I wonder if the same can be said with the anti-war protesters during the Vietnam War? or during the Civil Rights movement? I have to get ready for work, but I will say this in closing; Before you go spouting off some ideal that has been pushed out by a supposedly reputable news source, ask yourself one thing. Why didnt MSNBC bring on any GamerGate supporters to discuss the opposite side of the argument? Ill tell you this, Its certainly not because were in some foreign land planning our next Jihad on women. -Game On
