Gaw Kadal massacre of 21 Jan, 1990 resulted in the martyrdom of 51 civilians that led to the Kashmir wide protests. On 25 January 1990 thousands of people marked their protest in Handwara Town. The CRPF personal located at Police Station Handwara fired ruthlessly into the mob of thousands in which 21 civilians were martyred. Thus putting a total loss of 72 lives in a three days period. This was the peak of Indian arrogance in Kashmir. 24 years passed and justice continues to elude. May Allah SWT grant the departed souls highest place in Jannah... Aameen.
