Love is a funny thing.You expect it to be easy.You expect it to be a world of roses & laughs & perfect moments that you find only in movies.You expect him to always say the right thing,& always know exactly how u feel,or exactly how to react to it.You expect him to calm you down when youre yelling or to chase u when u run away.You expect so much that u feel entirely,utterly defeated when something doesnt exactly match up with all your plans.But thats the thing.Love isnt a plan.It doesnt have a certain beginning & it certainly has no end or visible finish line to those deeply in it. Love is so incredibly messy.People around u cant comprehend why u do the things u do,or why u fight so hard for something that seems to cause u so much pain,because simply,they cant see.They cant see the invisible ring of insanity that surrounds u when youre in love.Its inconvenient & painful & devastating at times,but we cant live without it.What u dont learn is how hard love is.How much work it takes.How much of ourselves we have to put into it.How it isnt worth it until we are complete & utter idiots about it. Love isnt him calming u down when u yell.Its him yelling,just aa loud,just as hard,right back at u,right in ur face to wake u up & keep u grounded.It isnt him bringing u roses everyday or cute things that make ur relationship appear more presentable. Its after a long fight,that drains the life & bones right out of u both,& yet him showing up at ur door the next morning anyway.Its not him saying all the right things or knowing exactly how to handle u.So no,its not her caressing ur hair & telling u that everythings going to be alright.Its him standing there,admitting hes just as scared as you are.You have to remember that with love,youre not the only one involved.Youve unknowingly put ur life ,ur heart into the palms of another persons hand & saidhere.Do what u will.Mash it into minced meat.Or forget i ever handed it to u.As long as u have it. It makes us crazy.
