Geelani accuses police officer of misbehaving with Kalwal, his wife Occupied kashmir, Nov 3: Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani has accused the indian Police officer from Nowgam Police Station, of misbehaving with pro-freedom leader Raja Mehrajuddin Kalwal and his wife, warning him to desist from such ‘shameful, aggressive and dissipated’ behavior. “The officer will have to bear responsibility in case anything untoward happens to the leader,” Geelani said in a statement today. “The officer has threatened to kill Raja Meraj-u-Din in a fake encounter. We know his track record. He is involved in the custodial killing of a number of innocent civilians,” Geelani alleged. “Meraj-u-Din Kalwal was arrested by the policemen from Nowgam Police Station, on October 31. The officer passed derogatory remarks and also threatened to implicate all his relatives and wife in fabricated cases. As soon as his wife came to the police station with tea for her husband, the officer without consideration and respect for a womenfolk, misbehaved with her and denied permission to meet her husband,” Geelani said, adding that “People know each and every thing about his evil designs and his behavior is no more different than a tough guy.” “Raja Meraj-u-Din is a prominent political leader and his activities are open and no police official has right to compel a political leader to give up his peaceful political activities,” Geelani said. #Gaznavi#
