Geelani writes memorandum to United Nations General Secretary =>Separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani on Wednesday wrote a memorandum to the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) Ban Ki Moon asking the organization to help in establishing an independent international tribunal to investigate “Indian crimes and atrocities” in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Geelani wrote the letter to “invoke” the responsibility of the United Nations to the people of the State. “I am especially writing to you… to appeal to your office to send out a message to the international community that Kashmiris are being systematically persecuted and repressed by Indian military occupation which has no respect for universal human rights or human dignity”, Geelani mentioned in the letter. In his letter, Geelani has mentioned the recent killing of four civilians in Shopian area and Gool firing incident saying that the people of the State are yet again in “grief and mourning”. He mentioned the hanging of 2001 Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru as the reason for fresh protest drive. Pertinently, Geelani had called for a march towards the United Nations office in Srinagar today that was foiled by security forces. Moreover, clashes took place in various parts of Srinagar city throughout the day. #Real_sangbaaz
