“Generation Curses” Do you know that both Ezekiel and Jeremiah states that generation curses will end? Both Ezekiel and Jeremiah spoke about a day when it comes to an end. It ended when God established the New Covenant on the cross when Jesus took the sour wine. Now if it is even mentioned in the Old Covenant, why are we stilling telling people that it applies on believers, in the 21st century? For those outside of Christ, there is potential to be impacted by generational curses. However as Christians, we are new creatures (2 Cor 5:17) and are delivered from this. Jer 31:29-31 “In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.” The saying embodied in Jer 31:29-31 arises from Exo 20:5: “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation] of them that hate me”. Now After the Cross, we have Hebrews 10:16-17:”This [is] the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more“ So don’t have the generational curse mentality which is an obstacle to experiencing the grace of God. In John 19:28-29: “After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put [it] upon hyssop, and put [it] to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” Vinegar / sour wine is in fact – sour grape – Jesus thirsted for the sour grape (representing the sins of our fathers and forefathers) at the Cross that we would no longer be subject to generational curses, we would no longer have teeth ‘set on edge’. Jesus redeemed us from the consequences set out in Jer 31:29-31. Hallelujah! Make this declaration: I will not be subject to the medical history of my ancestors! I receive my deliverance from every generational curse. - Pst Sim
