Genesis and Psalm 82. Food for Thought. Ultimately one must - TopicsExpress

Genesis and Psalm 82. Food for Thought. Ultimately one must either embrace the “big bang theory” that the universe expanded rapidly from out of pre-existing material, or that it was created ex nihilo, and spoken into existence by the Word. John 1:1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:3. All things WERE made by him[the Word] and without him was not any thing made that WAS made. Colossians 1:16. For by him WERE ALL things created, that ARE in heaven, and that ARE in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: ALL things WERE created by him, and for him: Notice the past tense, for everything that exists in the heavens or the earth today, whether they are visible or invisible, originated way back in Genesis 1:1. “In the beginning God CREATED the heaven and the earth” is a one-off statement, a singular declaration, which according to the best Hebrew scholars, is in the sense of being both absolute and perfect at the point of creation. But what about the “worlds”, for the Word who created all things, also framed the aeons, which literally means he restored or repaired the worlds or ages. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, Although in today’s vocabulary, we tend to use both world and earth interchangeably, in Scripture, the words have two entirely different meanings. “World” NEVER means the earth or vice versa, for in the truest definition “world” refers to the entire habitable age, and those who dwell, or have dwelt in it. This present “world” which began with Adam is the one which God so loved, and will continue until the return of Christ, who will reign in the world to come for 1000 years. The Word became flesh, and as the Son of God, he not only paid the penalty for man’s sin, but has overcome the world, defeated death, and won the victory over all his enemies, and is now the appointed heir of all things. Hebrews 1:2 [God] hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Each atom in the universe today was spoken into existence by the Word of God, hence the term, “ex nihilo”, from out of nothing, and that includes the atoms you and I are comprised of. Even Adam was formed from the dust of the ground, and only became a created living soul after God had breathed into his nostrils. Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Unlike Adam who was a direct creation, and made in the image and likeness of God, each of us since, have arrived by way of procreation, born in the image and likeness of human parents. It is in this sense that Luke could rightly declare Adam to be a “son of God”, whilst the rest of us are “sons and daughters of man”. Genesis 5:3 And Adam… begat a son in HIS own likeness, after HIS image; and called his name Seth: Just when the creation of the physical realm took place the Bible doesn’t say, but according to Job, the angels were present when God laid the foundations of the earth in Genesis 1:1. We are told very little of Lucifer and the angelic rebellion, or of what happened in the ancient world, but according to the apostle Peter, back in the heavens and earth of old, “the world that then was”, suffered terrible judgement, and perished. Those fallen angels can only be destroyed in the future “lake of fire”, and at least one of them was granted access to Eden, and through Adam’s disobedience, became “the god of this world”, and the one who held the power of death. In THIS world, all are subject to death from the moment of conception, and hence to the god of THIS world. Although it’s been broken by Jesus, and the enemy defeated, Satan still holds the power of death, and is able to keep mankind blind to the gospel which leads to everlasting life, and he and his cohorts are “ruling the darkness”. 2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the “god of this world” hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against “the rulers of the darkness” of THIS world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. There’s no indication given in Scripture that these invisible entities, the principalities and powers etc. which were all created in the beginning, both by the Word and for him, can either be killed or die. But they can be bound and imprisoned, and an everlasting fire has been prepared as the ultimate destination for the devil and his angels. Sadly, the spirit or soul of man is also such that cannot be killed, and unless saved unto eternal life through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, will suffer the second death, and too be cast into everlasting fire. But if our physical body truly consists of matter which was created “in the beginning”, then what about the spirit or soul? The Jews once accused Jesus of blasphemy for they understood that by equating with the Father, he was, making himself God. He replied by quoting from Psalm 82, and not only made it quite clear that the scripture applied directly to them, but also how the scripture couldn’t be broken. In effect Jesus said; “Why accuse me of blasphemy for claiming to be the Son of God, when the VERY scriptures you claim to believe, actually declare that you yourselves, are gods.” John 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? Some won’t like this, and it’s hard to actually take in, but by quoting Psalm 82, Jesus was pointing out how the sentence of judgement which was once passed upon the children of the most High, is being undertaken by men who will die in this world, men made a little lower than the angels. This has nothing at all to do with reincarnation, which is an outright lie, but of incarnation, for the gods which cannot die, were to be born as men, and experience death.in the flesh. From Psalm 82: God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods. I have said, Ye are gods, and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. We were known by God, and chosen in Christ before the foundation of this world, but who were we? Were we gods (whatever that may mean) in a previous world, upon whom judgement was passed? It would certainly seem so, unless it applies only to the Jews, which I don’t think is the case. We certainly had no choice over our birth, in fact, and as will be confirmed by any mother, we were literally forced into this world. We were subject to death from the moment of birth, and will have no other choice but to die. Because we were born subject to death, we were fallen short of the glory of God, from the moment we entered this world, for he is eternal life. Whilst in life we have the freedom to choose right from wrong, it’s the fallen nature we and the billions were born with, not our choice, which dictates our condition, for all have sinned, and the wages of sin is death. Little wonder then, the words of Jesus: “Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again” (John 3:7). Ephesians 1:4. According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Romans 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Ephesians 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: I’ve a gut feeling that our understanding, of what Jesus accomplished at the cross and over the subsequent three days and nights, is limited almost beyond imagination. However, I’m open to correction if anybody can show an alternative meaning to Psalm 82. https://facebook/GenesisAndTheRahabConspiracy
