Georgia Sports Communications/File attached and pasted below; ------------------------ Bulldog Postgame Notes: Georgia vs. Kentucky: Nov. 23, 2013 *Pouring On The Points: Tonight, Georgia cruised to a 42-point win, 59-17, tallying 602 yards of total offense on 82 plays. It was the most points against the Wildcats since a 62-17 win in Lexington in 2004 as well as the most in any SEC game since that contest. The 59 points was the most scored by the Bulldogs since a 63-16 win over New Mexico State in 2011. The Bulldogs scored 35 points in the first half. This is the most points Georgia has scored in one half since the 2011 Auburn game when the Bulldogs scored 35 in the first half. Georgia won that game 45-7. *Murray, Offense Roll: For the first time in six opportunities this season, Georgia elected to take the ball after winning the coin toss. The Bulldogs drove 59 yards in 1:04 as senior QB Aaron Murray (18-for-23, 183 yards, 4 TDs in just the first half) connected with senior SE Rhett McGowan for a 9-yard touchdown. The drive was set up by sophomore CB Sheldon Dawson’s career-long 41-yard kickoff return. However, Murray left the game with a left knee injury at the end of the second quarter and did not return. Senior TE Arthur Lynch finished with four catches for 42 yards and a career-high two touchdowns. Murray’s all-time SEC records now stand at: Completions (921), Passing Yards (13,166), TD Passes (121) and Total Offense (13,562). Murray moved to No. 2 on the SEC all-time list for Pass Attempts with 1,478 (Jared Lorenzen-Kentucky, 1,514). In addition, he tied David Greene with the most starts for a non-kicker in school history with 52, which is the most for any active NCAA player (school record is 53 by Blair Walsh). Murray also became the first QB in SEC history to have at least 3,000 yards passing for four seasons. Murray hit the 3,000 mark exactly on a 16-yard touchdown pass to sophomore TB Todd Gurley. As of today, there have been three other QBs in FBS history to have more than 3,000 in four seasons, including current Troy QB Corey Robinson. *Mason Relieves Murray: Junior QB Hutson Mason took over the offense late in the second quarter and drove the Bulldogs 57 yards on five plays for another touchdown. He hit Gurley for a 24-yard touchdown pass to give the Bulldogs a 35-10 edge. Mason finished 4-for-5 for 57 yards on his first drive, and for the game, he was 13-for-19 for 189 yards and one touchdowns to go with his second career rushing touchdown. One of Mason’s passes went to senior TE Hugh Williams who caught his first career ball, a 28-yarder. Reserve QBs Parker Welch and Faton Bauta also saw action in the fourth quarter. Gurley finished with five catches for team-high 90 yards and two touchdowns to go with eight carries for 77 yards (9.6 average). Before sustaining a hamstring injury against #6 LSU and missing the next three games, he had five catches for 42 yards and a touchdown. Since coming back, Gurley has recorded 21 catches for 266 yards and three touchdowns. *Points Off Turnovers: The Bulldogs are minus-seven in turnover margin after recovering three fumbles and giving up an interception and one fumble. Georgia has scored 45 points off 12 turnovers while opponents have tallied 45 points off 19 Bulldog miscues. Senior DE Garrison Smith forced a fumble in the opening period that sophomore OLB Jordan Jenkins recovered. Two plays later, Murray hit Lynch for a 1-yard score. In the second quarter, freshman Reggie Davis fumbled a punt on the Georgia 26-yard line. Kentucky later booted a 24-yard field goal. Murray threw his ninth interception of the year later in the game and Kentucky punted on its next possession. Sophomore SS Josh Harvey-Clemons forced a fumble and recovered it in the third quarter. Two plays later, freshman TB J.J. Green scored the third rushing touchdown of his career. Freshman OLB Leonard Floyd tallied a sack later in the third quarter and stripped the ball. Harvey-Clemons recovered this loose ball as well. Freshman TB Brendan Douglas then ran in his third career touchdown. *Leading Tackler: Junior linebacker Ramik Wilson had a team-high nine tackles, including a sack. He came in tonight leading the SEC in tackles with 110. Senior Garrison Smith tallied two forced fumbles with seven tackles, including two sacks and three tackles for loss. Harvey-Clemons also racked up six tackles, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble. *Captains: Today’s game captains were Murray, Smith, senior Corey Campbell (FB) and senior Connor Norman (FS). *Injury Report: Murray (left knee), redshirt sophomore DE Sterling Bailey (right ankle) and freshman FS Tray Matthews (left hamstring) left the game in the second quarter. Murray and Bailey did not return but Matthews returned in the third quarter. Up Next: Georgia (7-4, 5-3 SEC) closes out the regular season at Georgia Tech on Nov. 30. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. The network televising the game will be either ESPN/ESPN2 or ABC and will be announced Sunday.
