Gerrold says a lot of things off the cuff that tick me off, but this is really worth reading, for any of us who are into fandom. I know at Arisia at one moment, in the green room, a woman sighted and rather haughtily looked over at a group that was following the Pats game, and said, I never thought Id see a *football* game being followed at a convention. *We* dont do that. Seriously. I shrugged my shoulders, and as gently as I could, said, Fandom is fandom. We *all* do that sometimes. Its important, if we *are* fandom, that you feel like maybe, you belong, here, with us. Even the football fans.
